Director Zack Snyder has acknowledged that Warner Bros.' global distribution for his version of Justice League has been somewhat lackluster.

It's one of the most talked-about superhero flicks in recent memory and soon it will finally be available on HBO Max. The 'Snyder Cut' of Justice League is a complete re-work of the original film, intending to bring to life  Zack Snyder Snyder's original vision for the project. Everyone in the U.S. will be able to see the film on March 18th, but for those outside the U.S., it may not be so simple.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will be dropping exclusively on HBO Max, but that launch comes with a fairly drastic downside: HBO Max is only available in the U.S. This means that countries outside the United States won't have access to the film on launch day, and currently, there isn't even a release date for other territories.

Fans began to ask questions when a UK trailer for the film dropped, conspicuously neglecting to list any official dates. As audiences have begun to murmur about international release details, the director himself happened to be doing an interview with Youtube channel SnyderCutBR, where he was asked about the global release plans for the film.

When it comes to the global rollout of the film, Snyder clearly wasn't impressed. The director expressed his disappointment with the current plans and admitted that he wasn't sure why the rollout news has been so underwhelming: “There has been, you know, not amazing work done with the distribution of the movie. I don’t know why that is, I honestly couldn’t put my finger on it."

That said, Snyder seems to blame the unexpected timing of it all, rather than any nefarious agenda or lack of planning. During the interview, he indicated that he believed Warner Bros.' standard distribution procedure was to blame for the shortfall, and the issue was compounded by the speed at which the Snyder Cut was produced compared to other films that typically have a year or more to work out the distribution.

Unfortunately, Snyder didn't have any updated news about international release dates for his version of Justice League. It's possible the film simply won't be available until HBO Max rolls out in each respective country, which could take some time. Hopefully, Warner Bros. makes a more official comment soon in order to put international audiences at ease.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will be available only on HBO Max starting March 18th.
