A fan has made an MCU supercut featuring some of the film franchise's favorite characters, causing fans to relive some of the most emotional moments in the franchise to date. The YouTube video, simply titled, "It's just a superhero movie," features various scenes from several MCU movies, most notably the climactic "Infinity Saga": Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The scenes are skilfully edited together to the song "In This Shirt" by The Irrepressibles, creating an immersive emotional experience.
Lines such as Thor's "what more can I lose" and Rocket's emotional "I didn't ask to get made" demonstrate some of the lowest lows that characters have experienced throughout the film series. Black Widow can be seen asking Bruce Banner, "You still think you're the only monster on the team?" before the video cuts to different scenes of Vision, Nebula, and Rocket struggling with their respective identities.

The supercut showcases heartwarming scenes that detail the romantic relationships between certain characters, like that of Quill and Gomora from Guardians of the Galaxy, and Tony Stark and Pepper Potts in Iron Man. At the same time, the video also blatantly reminds viewers of all the death that MCU showed over the years, such as Black Widow's sacrificial death and young Spider-Man's temporary--albeit devastating disappearance. The video ends with one of the most emotional scenes in MCU to date--Tony Stark sacrificing his life at the end of Endgame.
The video's title is in reference to a phrase that is constantly repeated in response to the emotional reactions of fans to certain MCU moments, especially after the end of Avengers: Endgame in 2019. However, the video demonstrates why fans react in such a way to the films, and what makes Marvel's superhero movies different from others.
In all of the MCU movies to date, audiences have been shown the human side to their favorite superheroes, allowing the viewer to reach a deeper and more memorable connection with the films. This causes dedicated MCU fans to become emotionally invested in both the plot and the characters of the movies.
An interesting observation is that the video only features one glimpse at Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman. T'Challa is only shown for a brief second hugging his father. However, due to the actor's death last year, it's plausible to assume that he was probably omitted out of respect.
MCU Phase 4 kicked off earlier this year with WandaVison, a show in which the storyline is based on some of the emotional scenes featured in this fan-made supercut. Fans might have to keep the tissues handy while continuing to watch Wanda come to terms with her grief.
