A fan of the franchise claims to have photographed a leaked copy of Madden NFL 22's cover when visiting a GameStop location in Pennsylvania.

The NFL season for 2020-21 is over, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are league champions. It's going to be a long offseason between now and September, so fans may be looking to Madden NFL 22 news in the meantime. Despite being unlikely to launch for another six months, there appears to be a potential leak of Madden NFL 22's cover. If the leak is to be believed, Madden NFL 22 will feature Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry.

The leak comes from TikTok user jordanr03, who claims they found the leaked cover at a GameStop location in Pennsylvania. Past sports game cover leaks have been similarly sourced, but that could be part of a fake or merely coincidental. The leak itself is an image of the cover in black and white, as if the cover art was printed on a slip of paper for a store flier. It asks shoppers to reserve their copy now, but provides no release date.

There are a lot of reasons to be skeptical about the veracity of this cover. Madden covers are often mocked-up by fans, and it's February despite a cover reveal not being likely to happen until June. The cover also doesn't look professionally done, with Henry's player number being the focus instead of Henry himself. That said, Henry's number being 22 does make him a sensible option for this year's installment.

Madden fans should know it's early to be talking about Madden NFL 22 leaks. This rumored cover for Madden NFL 22 should probably be looked at as a bit of fun speculation, but should otherwise not be taken too seriously. Remain skeptical if only because it's likely going to be a long while before an official confirmation of Madden NFL 22's cover is made.

Madden NFL 22 is currently in development.
