Bugbear Entertainment knows its way around a racing game and Wreckfest is no exception. Part demolition derby and part race around the track, it has loads of fun game modes for players to check out.

Loads of players decided to try out the game due to the Winter Fest Tournament, and Wreckfest also joined Xbox Game Pass on February 18, 2021. The game has a surprising amount of depth for a racing game and can be a lot to take on for people entirely new to it. Still, there are ways to gain a competitive edge if players know what to do.
10 Take On Smart Special Events
It's sometimes easy to miss Special Events as they don't offer a lot of experience. However, they are an amazing way to unlock special vehicles! The chance to have a school bus that can crash into players in online play is too sweet to miss out on. Of course, some events simply unlock new versions of regular cars, but these also save players a ton of money in the long run.
9 Learn To Play Aggressively
Players won't win races by being careful when opponents are taking corners — it's better to smash cars right in their tail end and send them flying while taking a tight turn. Drivers that try to play too carefully are more likely to just end up losing instead of making the big plays necessary to win.
Players are harder to hit if they're moving faster so put that pedal to the metal!
8 Smash And Crash Wisely
It can be tempting to speed into a head-on collision, but drivers that do so are going to have a terrible time. It's important to take on engagements that will be the most effective in any situation. T-boning cars is usually the best way to go as it deals damage without messing up a driver's car too badly.

It's also worth considering driving purely in reverse at the beginning of matches. It's much harder to drive backward at the end of the game once a car is mostly damaged so it's best to do this with a lot of other cars still in the competition. Having a car's front end still intact far into matches is a great way to ensure victory.
7 Always Reach The Podium
"If you ain't first you're last!" This silly piece of advice from Talladega Nights applies well to Wreckfest as well. Players get various bonuses, from new engine parts to visual upgrades, each time they're in the top three.
It's impossible to win every match of course, but it should be a top priority as it's one of the best ways to improve vehicles quickly.
6 Efficiently Tune Difficulty
Some players don't realize that the difficulty they play on directly influences how much experience players get. It can be tempting to have traction control and ABS turned on, but learning to drive without them can help players get farther much faster.
Of course, if it's too difficult, players simply won't win, so it's best to tune these settings to just the right levels for maximum rewards.
5 Deathmatch Vs Last Man Standing
When looking at events, it's usually far better to choose a Deathmatch over a Last Man Standing event. With Deathmatches being point-based, it rewards constant destruction which is easier to achieve. Last Man Standing events take a far more careful approach and effort to reach the podium so aren't always worth the work.
4 Custom Races
Look, sometimes everyone gets tired of grinding in games and wants to just have the money and experience to get the items they want to use in-game quickly. Fortunately, certain custom races can manage to do this with extreme speed.

Players can set up races where they are in their car, but their opponents are still in motorcycles. If they set the difficulty on Novice, it's easy to make them all pile up and crash. If players remove options like traction and stability control, they can simply wreck their own car to get the full race win with a major bonus.
3 Tune Cars For Events
It's likely obvious advice, but loads of players don't learn the best ways to tune their cars for individual events. All speed isn't going to help that much if players are being smashed into by a school bus after all!
Learning things like soft suspensions are better on dirt tracks while a stiff suspension needs a stiff suspension. Customized cars get players wins!
2 Upgrade Appropriately
Piling on tons of armor for a race where speed is key is just as bad of a decision as not having enough for a demolition derby. Just like tune-ups, players need to make sure they take the time to give their cars proper upgrades for efficiency in each event as well. Take some time in the shop and see just how big of a difference it makes on the track.
1 Complete The Bonus Challenges
One of the best ways to earn experience quickly for players is to make sure all of the bonus challenges get completed. Being able to reduce the time necessary to unlock cars and parts will get players back to having fun on the track faster.
These can be anything from leading during a number of laps to making other cars spin out. Make sure to customize the car accordingly to make these challenges easier.
