The Phantom Thieves are back in Omega Force and P-Studios' hotly-anticipated spinoff-sequel Persona 5 Strikers. With several players having already started the adventure through Persona 5 Striker's Digital Deluxe Edition, and with the game launching worldwide on February 23rd, players may be wondering how long it may take to complete the game.

While players may have been wary of the spinoff's gameplay changes following its initial announcement, Persona 5 Strikers has been well received by critics, putting fans' concerns to rest. Released in Japan almost a year ago under the title Persona 5 Scramble, estimates on the games' completion time have also been widely available for some time.

Unlike titles in the mainline Persona series, Persona 5 Strikers is a considerably shorter experience. While players typically spent 100 hours for a basic playthrough of Persona 5, in Persona 5 Strikers players can expect to spend approximately 35 hours to complete the game. Additionally, while completionists may have spent up to 200 hours completing Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal, in Persona 5 Strikers they can expect to spend approximately 50 hours to complete the game.

While some diehard fans may be disappointed that the spinoff's length doesn't match that of games in the mainline series, Persona 5 Strikers game length is typical for most JRPGs. Players new to the Persona series, who may have been put off by titles in the mainline series' length, may also find Persona 5 Strikers length far more approachable. Unlike the mainline Persona series, Persona 5 Strikers also contains a revamped combat system that may appeal to players who aren't as fond of turn-based combat.

For some JRPG fans, Persona 5 Striker's length may be a blessing in disguise as this week sees the launch of two major JRPG releases. While Persona 5 Strikers launches this Tuesday on PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, on Friday February 26th the highly anticipated Bravely Default 2 launches on the Nintendo Switch. With Persona 5 Strikers' length being considerably shorter than games in the mainline series, players may be more likely to pick up both titles this week.

As AAA releases continued to be delayed and pushed into 2022 release windows, JRPG enthusiasts seem like they will have plenty of titles to keep them occupied throughout 2021. Persona 5 Strikers may not be the mainline sequel that some purists may have wanted, but, the game serves as a welcome addition to the series that will likely tide fans over until the announcement of Persona 6. Game length aside, JRPG fans have every reason to be excited for the title's release this week.
