Postal Redux is coming to PlayStation 4 early next month, with the remaster of the controversial shooter coming with DLC levels and an exclusive mode.

A highly-controversial twin-stick, isometric shooter, the original Postal was renown for its extremely violent combat, as players had to explore a suburban town overrun by crazed-gunmen. The series eventually expanded on its premise, becoming even more over the top and divisive through various sequels as the years pressed on. However, those looking to venture back to the series' first entry will soon be able to do so on a new platform, with Postal Redux coming to PS4 next month.

On March 5, the 2016 remaster of the game will be available to purchase and play on PlayStation 4. It will mark the first entry in the Postal franchise to make its debut on the console and brings with it Redux's bonus content, including all its DLC and an exclusive mode known as Rampage.

Rampage mode sees players compete to net themselves a high score through killstreaks and other chaos-focused goals, taking the game's action and making it into an arcade-esque experience. Meanwhile, the game will also feature all the additional content added to the title, including new areas such as Shanty Town, EZ Mart, Tokyo, and Osaka. It looks to be the definitive way to play the shooter, with a higher resolution and remastered dialogue, music, and sound.

Interestingly, Postal Redux was originally announced as coming to the PlayStation 4 alongside the remaster's original PC release. However, it was delayed and eventually canceled due to the PC port not doing quite as well as developer Running with Scissors hoped. It eventually came to the Nintendo Switch back in October and now it seems the PlayStation 4 version will finally see the light of day.

For those who aren't acquainted with the Postal franchise's bizarre history, the games changed pretty drastically over the years, adopting a bombastic, black-humor-focused style that focused on edgy jokes and hyperviolent action. Postal 2 is likely the series most infamous entry, switching the top-down shooter to an open-world first-person shooter. It gained a lot of backlash from consumers and the media due to actions the player could take in the game and the offensive stereotypes portrayed by its characters.

The most recent iteration of the series came through Postal 4: No Regertswhich released in early access on Steam back in 2019. The game takes the formula back to the days of Postal 2, returning to a first-person perspective and delivering another open-world for players to cause carnage in. The title is still in early access now and continues to be updated frequently, with a recent patch upping the game's frame rate.

Postal Redux is out now on PC and Nintendo Switch with a PlayStation 4 port coming on March 5.
