Valheim is filled with secrets that could mean the difference between life and death, so players will want the Wishbone to help track them down.

Valheim continues to test players' ability to survive and dominate the Steam top sellers list. A combination of deep survival and crafting mechanics and the game's ethereal, other-worldly tone has captured the hearts of players all over the world. Players are constantly looking for an edge, and one important item to get is the Wishbone.

The Wishbone is a special item dropped by the Bonemass boss, and it is advantageous when it comes to tracking down secrets. After equipping the Wishbone, players will be able to see green particles floating around their character model when they are close to a secret. The particles will be accompanied by a dinging sound effect that will increase in tempo as they get closer to the secret. When standing atop the secret, players will be able to dig it up, revealing buried treasure, silver veins, or muddy scrap piles.

Muddy scrap piles can drop scrap iron, leather scraps, and withered bones, while silver deposits will allow the player to gather silver ore with an iron pickaxe. Buried treasure can contain coins, rubies, amber, and other rare and important resources that will help players to progress on their journey toward Valhalla.

While it may be tempting to try to rush and fight Bonemass as soon as possible, boss fights in Valheim can be unforgiving and brutal affairs for those who are not ready for them. Before going toe to toe with this gargantuan beast, players can take some simple steps to ensure the best chance of success. Ensuring that they have plenty of food and that their armor and weapons are all in a good state of repair is a must for any players planning to fight Bonemass.

Bonemass is weak to blunt damage, so iron maces and similar melee weapons are recommended, with the Stagbreaker being one of the best weapons that players could arm themselves with for the fight. Poison resistance potions from the fermenter are also hugely important, as they will cut down the damage done by Bonemass during the fight.

Once Bonemass has been defeated, it will drop the Wishbone, and players can then equip the item in an armor slot. It should be noted that the Wishbone is equipped in the same armor slot as Megingjord, a belt that allows players to greatly increase their carry weight. As only one can be equipped at a time, there may be points where players must decide between hauling their supplies around or hunting down Valheim's many secrets.

Valheim is available now on PC.
