In what is a fairly regular event for his followers, DNP3 is giving away either an Illusion Nintendo Switch or $500 via Twitter lottery.

Twitch has given many players a platform to turn their passion for games into a following and some revenue. While there are some stories of serious problems like mass viewer loss or awful harassment, other players have found nothing but success.

One such player is DNP3, a Twitch streamer who has built a solid following through streaming games like Fortnite. With a wolf and Tron theme and his own website, DNP3 is clearly doing well if a regular trend on their Twitter is any indication. That trend is a lotto giveaway to anyone who retweets the tweet detailing the prize of the lotto within a certain time limit. The prize this time happens to include a rare version of the Nintendo Switch.

The tweet in question promises an "Illusion" Nintendo Switch or $500 to one person who retweets the message within 10 hours. While the promise of an Illusion Switch seems like a poorly covered scam for a fake Switch, it's actually a real thing. The "Illusion" refers to the shiny pink finish of the Switch itself, and while it looks pretty, it performs the same as any other Switch. Considering the Switch sold huge in Japan in 2020 and is still hugely popular, it's a good prize to offer.

That said, it looks like the Switch is actually the second choice for many. A poll on DNP3's Twitter shows that just over half of those asked would prefer the $500 cash prize. This is understandable, since just about no one would turn down a cash windfall, but there are plenty of players who already have a Switch. Hopefully the $500, if that is the prize in the end, finds its way into the hands of someone who needs it. It wouldn't be the first time Twitter has provided help for someone needing it.

As a promotional stunt, it's a good way to get players looking at a profile. This way players will go hunting for who DNP3 is, if for no other reason than to verify the giveaway lotto. It will likely get #FreeSwitch trending even further than something like a survey regarding the Wii U.

How much DNP3's Twitter will actually grow is, of course, still up in the air. Players can sign up to follow his tweets but not retweets with relative ease for more of these giveaway lottos. This is far from the only one, or even the largest one, that DNP3 has done, so anyone looking for further giveaways could certainly do worse.
