Members of the Call of Duty: Warzone community notice a subtle change to the map that could present a much larger story option.

One of the most dangerous yet iconic locations in Call of Duty: Warzone is the Gora Dam. This massive structure serves as a point of interest as it blocks a frozen lake from the river down below. Players in Call of Duty: Warzone climb all throughout the structure, but some fans have noticed a slight change in Season 2 that may hint at a massive change later on.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been in a state of cold and winter since players arrived. Verdansk's massive city is surrounded by hints of snow along with a frozen river and lake. While this does allow players to walk upon the ice, a new wave of images is suggesting that players may need a new way to travel very soon.

Call of Duty: Warzone fan concern is best summarized by ESPKruspe on Reddit. This Call of Duty: Warzone player shared an interesting image that suggests that the ice is slowly melting. An image of a once frozen dock completely thawed has sparked new rumors that a flood may be coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. For users like ESPKruspe, the Shipwreck on Verdansk is secondary to this unexpected map evolution in the northern sections. Back in Season 4, the dam breaking was rumored to be coming, but such thoughts have recently been overshadowed with a nuclear theory. It could be possible that both rumors are valid, as the ice is starting to thin along known frozen locations.

Current fan theories revolve around Call of Duty: Warzone getting nuked, but that does not mean the dam will still remain. While players expect a remodeling of the main downtown area, multiple locations will no doubt evolve as an after-effect of nuclear damage.

While the Call of Duty: Warzone Gora Dam may not burst as expected, fans are at least wondering if water will return to the game. Swimming was a mechanic built into the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 battle royale, and it possible that Treyarch is bringing the same feature over to Warzone.

Whether the ice is melting completely or just thinning, many Call of Duty: Warzone fans will be watching the map intently. Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 has evolved several locations adding nuclear silos, a crashed ship, and many other noticeable changes. With so much evolving around the community, it would not be surprising if the ice melting was giving way to a much larger revelation.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
