The newest series of Pokemon announcements for February 2021 has revealed even more details for the upcoming New Pokemon Snap. Alongside the various items that players can use on their travels and the characters the will meet, the newest trailer has also shown more Pokemon that can be found. While the previous trailer for New Pokemon Snap had the number of confirmed Pokemon at 71, this new trailer has the number of confirmed Pokemon now at 96. Since it is confirmed that over 200 different Pokemon will be appearing in the final game, prospective players haven't even seen half of what's to come.
Every generation of Pokemon alongside their main regions will be having representatives appear in-game for players to find. While some regions may be getting more attention than others, all of the Pokemon are put together in their habitats in realistic ways despite their region of origin.

The original Pokemon Snap came out during the first generation of Pokemon with it completing focusing on the Pokemon from the Kanto region. While there are many more generations, regions, and Pokemon that have been released since then, the original Pokemon are still getting their chance to appear on camera in New Pokemon Snap. The newest gameplay trailer even shows more Pokemon from the Kanto region that weren't seen previously.
All of the Pokemon native to the Kanto region that have been shown to appear in New Pokemon Snap are...
- Bulbasaur
- Venusaur
- Squirtle
- Blastoise
- Caterpie

- Fearow
- Pikachu
- Machamp
- Dodrio
- Onix

- Kangaskhan
- Pinsir
- Magikarp
- Lapras
- Eevee
- Vaporeon
It is entirely possible for even more Kanto Pokemon to appear in the full version of the game, such as the other two original evolutions of Eevee. Considering that the original Pokemon Snap had puzzles that required players to trigger Pokemon evolutions, it could be possible that players can help different Eevee in different levels evolve into its different evolutions for photo opportunities.
The Johto region got some very special attention with the New Pokemon Snap gameplay trailer. This is due to the first mythical Pokemon confirmed to be appearing in this title being Celebi. It is unknown if Celebi will be the only mythical or legendary Pokemon to make an appearance in New Pokemon Snap, but being the only confirmed one so far allows it to take the spotlight.
With Celebi included, the currently confirmed Johto Pokemon for New Pokemon Snap are...
- Meganium
- Hoothoot
- Chinchou
- Pichu
- Bellossom
- Sudowoodo
- Aipom
- Wooper
- Quagsire
- Murkrow
- Heracross
- Octillery
- Teddiursa
- Mantine
- Tyranitar
- Celebi
One of the new locations shown off in the new trailer has revealed some more Pokemon native to the Hoenn region. With how much water makes up the Hoenn region in its original games, it makes sense that the underwater level for New Pokemon Snap has more of Hoenn's water-native Pokemon.
All of the current Hoenn Pokemon confirmed to appear are...
- Torchic
- Wurmple
- Beautifly
- Shiftry
- Taillow
- Wingull
- Pelipper

All eyes are now on the Sinnoh region thanks to the announcements for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. While New Pokemon Snap didn't have the Sinnoh region take center stage when it came to showing off Pokemon, there are still plenty of Pokemon from the snowy region that will be appearing in the wild.
So far, all of the Pokemon originally from the Sinnoh region that are confirmed to be in New Pokemon Snap are...
- Torterra
- Bidoof
- Starly
- Drifblim
- Hippowdon
- Skorupi
- Finneon
- Lumineon
- Tangrowth

The Unova region is filled with a variety of both divisive and fan favorite Pokemon among Pokemon fans. Put together among many other Pokemon in the wild however, many of the Pokemon from the fifth generation fit in perfectly with the Lentil region as their home. The newest Pokemon professor, Professor Mirror, even seems to have the Unovan Pokemon, Stoutland as his partner.
With the new trailer confirming even more Pokemon, the confirmed Pokemon appearing from the Unova region are...
- Stoutland
- Liepard
- Unfezant
- Tympole
- Ducklett
- Swanna
- Deerling
- Sawsbuck
- Emolga
- Frillish
- Alomomola
- Stunfisk
- Bouffalant
- Mandibuzz
Like with the Sinnoh region, there has been plenty of rumors and speculation surrounding the Kalos region when it comes to new Pokemon content. While Sinnoh fans recently got the announcement for three new games based on the region, Kalos fans mostly are still wishing for a Kalos-based DLC for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.
Even with no new game or DLC confirmed, there are still plenty of Kalos Pokemon that are confirmed to be appearing in New Pokemon Snap, with even more likely to appear in the full version of the game. These confirmed Pokemon are...
- Vivillon
- Florges
- Pancham
- Inkay
- Heliolisk
- Dedenne
With the Alola region being already a tropical paradise of a region, plenty of its colorful Pokemon fit right at home in the aesthetically pleasing locations of the Lentil region. Many of its Pokemon have already been seen in the waters and jungles of the Lentil region in the New Pokemon Snap trailers as well as the regional variant of Raichu. Raichu is so far the only confirmed regional variant of any Pokemon in either the Galar or Alolan regions. It is however likely that there will be more once the game is released.
So far, the confirmed Alolan Pokemon for New Pokemon Snap are...
- Primarina
- Pikipek
- Toucannon
- Crabrawler
- Lycanroc
- Bounsweet
- Comfey
- Sandygast
- Pyukumuku
- Minior
Even with all of the trailers released, there are still only three Pokemon native to the Galar region appearing in New Pokemon Snap. These Pokemon are...
- Grookey
- Scorbunny
- Sobble
Despite these Pokemon being the only representatives from the region seen so far, it is very unlikely that these three will be the only Galarian Pokemon. One of the biggest pieces of evidence for this can actually be seen in New Pokemon Snap's newest trailer. At the 1:44 timestamp, viewers will be able to see a bright red flower growing behind two Sobble. The colors of this flower highly resemble the colors of the Galarian Pokemon, Gossifleur. It is very possible that this Pokemon is camouflaged as a flower in the area shown in the trailer, with players needing to figure out how to makes Gossifleur reveal itself.
There are plenty more Pokemon that players will be able to find in New Pokemon Snap upon its release. While its great to know what to expect, its great that the majority of the Pokemon are still out there for players to discover on their own.
New Pokemon Snap will be available for the Nintendo Switch on April 30th, 2021.
