Having only just been released on Steam, Breathedge is already racking up positive reviews, and now it looks as though the studio is preparing to release a port for consoles pretty soon. This sci-fi survival game, which is being compared to the likes of Subnautica, is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One early April.
The news was unveiled in a recent trailer which humorously showcases footage from the game before revealing the date the console ports are due to be available. Breathedge is just one of a series of survival games which have been increasing in popularity over the years, and could arguably stack up alongside such current hits as Valheim or DayZ.

The story of Breathedge focuses on a character known simply as The Man who is on a quest to deliver his grandfather's ashes to a galactic funeral. However, things go wrong and The Man winds up in the middle of a conspiracy. It's up to the player to survive in the unforgiving darkness of space. Players must find resources, such as aluminum, in order to not succumb to the dangers that float on by.
The game actually started out in early access back in 2018, but was released fully on February 25th of this year. It combines survivability with a staple element of most survival games: crafting mechanics. With high scores on the PC version, Breathedge looks to replicate similar success on the PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions when it launches in full this coming April.
Breathedge is out now on PC, with console ports coming April 6th.
