Animal Crossing: New Horizons’ Mario-themed crossover items are available now, though players may be wondering how long they have to claim them.

The Mario crossover items in Animal Crossing: New Horizons were a long time coming, as they were originally teased late last year. Yesterday, the items became available in Nook Shopping, giving Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans access to a bunch of special content themed around the iconic Nintendo franchise.

While March 1 is the start date for the Mario crossover, no end date is specified inside the game for the items. As it turns out, this is for good reason, as the official Animal Crossing Twitter account recently confirmed a special aspect of this crossover. As such, Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans should feel no need to rush when collecting the special Mario-themed items.

Unlike the New Year’s items, Super Bowl items, or other seasonal additions, the Mario-related additions to Animal Crossing: New Horizons do not disappear from the shop at all. With players limited to five items a day from Nook Shopping, this is a great decision on the part of Nintendo, as getting all the Mario content in the month of March would have required some dedication on the part of players.

Fans can find all of the unique Anniversary items inside the Special Goods tab of Nook Shopping. The items having a dedicated Nook Shopping section should make keeping track of what players do and do not have easier, and like always, both the terminal in Resident Services and the NookPhone app will work for ordering the Mario items. With the items never expiring, Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can get them whenever they want.

There are several Mario-themed clothing options that can be purchased, with the special Animal Crossing: New Horizons outfits themed around the franchise’s most iconic characters. Unfortunately, the classic antagonist Bowser does not get much love in the costume department. The clothing items are as follows:

  • Mario Costume: Includes the ‘Stache, Hat, Outfit, and Shoes pieces. (6,500 Bells Total)
  • Luigi Costume: Includes the ‘Stache, Hat, Outfit, and Shoes pieces. (6,500 Bells Total)
  • Wario Costume: Includes the ‘Stache, Hat, Outfit, and Shoes pieces. (6,500 Bells Total)
  • Princess Peach Costume: Includes the Crown, Dress, and Shoes pieces. (20,400 Bells Total)

Mario fans will also find several furniture items inside the Special Goods section, too, including the pipes that allow for teleportation around player islands. The furniture items are as follows:

  • Question Block (1350 Bells)
  • 1-Up Mushroom (2000 Bells)
  • Block (1000 Bells)
  • Block Flooring (3000 Bells)
  • Coin (350 Bells)
  • Fire Flower (1500 Bells)
  • Floating Block (1000 Bells)
  • Goal Pole (3500 Bells)
  • Lakitu’s Cloud Rug (1500 Bells)
  • Red, Blue, And Green Large Mushroom Platforms (3000 Bells)
  • Mushroom Mural (3000 Bells)
  • Pipes (5000 Bells)
  • Green And Red Shells (700 Bells)
  • Yellow, Pink, And Green Small Mushroom Platforms (1000 Bells)
  • Super Mushroom (1350 Bells)
  • Super Star (2000 Bells)
  • Thwomp (3000 Bells)
  • Yoshi’s Egg Rug (1500 Bells)

With Animal Crossing: New Horizons players that get the game months from now still having access to these Mario items, this crossover is truly special. Further, for those that still need to make some Bells to get the items, knowing that they have as long as they need to do so is great news.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now on Nintendo Switch.
