It's Tuesday, which means a new PlayStation Store update. And it's the first Tuesday of the month, which means a new batch of free PlayStation Plus games are now available for subscribers to claim. This month, PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim four free games, plus all PlayStation gamers, regardless of whether or not they have PS Plus, can claim another game, completely free of charge.
Sony has brought back the PlayStation Play at Home Initiative, which gives those PS4 and PS5 free games with no strings attached. For March 2021, the PlayStation Play at Home free game is the 2016 Ratchet & Clank reboot. Essentially a re-imagining of the original Ratchet & Clank game with changes made to bring it more in-line with the feature film adaptation. It earned strong reviews at the time of its release, and those who have yet to play it may want to check it out while they wait for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart's launch later this year.

As far as PlayStation Plus goes, subscribers have four free games to claim for March 2021, including one PS5 title, two PS4 games, and one for PlayStation VR. On the PS5 side of things, PS Plus subscribers can download the new puzzle game Maquette. Maquette's cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard, so it has more production value than one would usually expect from an indie puzzle game.
On PS4, PS Plus subscribers can add Final Fantasy 7 Remake to their collection, though there is a catch that fans should be aware of. While the paid version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake can upgrade to the PS5 version for free when it launches this summer, the PS Plus version can not. This doesn't concern those who aren't interested in upgrading or don't care about the PS5 exclusive Yuffie DLC, but it is something that subscribers should keep in mind.
PS Plus subscribers on PS4 can also check out Remnant: From the Ashes. A co-op shooter game that borrows heavily from the Dark Souls franchise, Remnant was a sleeper hit when it launched in 2019. And finally, those with PlayStation VR headsets can claim Farpoint, a PSVR exclusive first-person shooter.
Sony will likely reveal the free PS Plus games for April 2021 on the last Wednesday of the month, March 31. However, it has already confirmed one of the free PS Plus games for April 2021 in the form of Oddworld: Soulstorm, which will be the PlayStation 5 offering for April.
