Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. will not be around for much longer. March 31, 2021 will be a sad day for Nintendo and Mario fans, as there are multiple games and devices that will be taken off of the market on that day. The Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is one of them, but while it is currently available in multiple regions, the product had some stock issues in Australia. Thankfully--just in time before it will leave the market--Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is making a triumphant return.
When Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. was first announced, many of the Nintendo faithful were both thrilled and confused. The device itself is elegant and classic in its design in that it is the original Super Mario Bros. with some upgraded features on a crisp screen, but also the fact that the device would no longer be on sale after March of 2021 was disappointing. The pressure of Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. leaving the market perhaps helped in driving sales, as the device was out of stock in various regions, including Australia.

According to Vbooks.net, Australia is set to see a restock of Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. just before it leaves for good, and some retailers already have some very limited stock available. The Gamesmen and JB Hi-FI seem to currently have the item on sale for right around $79 AUD. Meanwhile, preorders will go live for EB Games on March 4, at 9 am AEST. Amazon and The Big W also will likely have the game/item in stock later this week as well. Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is currently in stock in regions such as the US and UK.
Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. comes with plenty of features. The package comes with the original Super Mario Bros. and also its sequel, Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels. It also has a few additional touches like a Mario-themed clock. The device itself comes with an LCD screen, rechargeable battery, and more.
Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is not the only game that will be taken off shelves come March 31, 2021. The very well-received Super Mario 3D All-Stars will no longer be available as of that day, as will Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light. Perhaps the toughest pill to swallow, however, is Super Mario Bros. 35, the last-man-standing online multiplayer game that comes along-side a Nintendo Online subscription. While the other titles mentioned will no longer be available to purchase, they are still able to be played if someone were to have snatched them up before they are taken off of digital or physical shelves. Super Mario Bros. 35, however, will simply be unplayable in less than a month.
What Nintendo is actually planning with all of this is not yet known, but making games unplayable or unavailable for purchase is an odd decision, to say the least.
Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is available now.
