The original Mass Effect trilogy will be getting the vinyl treatment as SpaceLab9 announces a 4LP collection featuring 85 tracks.

After a few years in limbo, Mass Effect fans have welcomed the franchise back with reinvigorated support thanks to the upcoming release of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, a collection of remasters of the original Mass Effect trilogy. With players finally able to relive the tale of Commander Shepard on contemporary hardware, there has been a renewed focus on bringing Mass Effect merchandise back into circulation. SpaceLab9 is one such company producing new Mass Effect collectibles, opting to support the franchise's audiophiles.

SpaceLab9 announced via its official Twitter account that the Mass Effect trilogy will have some of its most impactful tunes immortalized on vinyl. The "Mass Effect Trilogy: Vinyl Collection" will feature 85 tracks from all three mainline entries of the franchise, spread across 4LPs.

The vinyl set is up for presale starting today, March 4, at 1p. EST and is a must have for any fan of Mass Effect's distinct compositions. The tweet announcing the vinyl collection confirms that the 85 songs available have been curated by developer Bioware's sound team. One of the songs likely to make the cut is "Suicide Mission" from Mass Effect 2, considered by fans to be the standout track of the franchise.

The announcement of this upcoming Mass Effect vinyl set comes at a point of renewed interest and support for Bioware's video game space opera. Since the announcement of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, fans have been quick to invest in the franchise more than ever before, especially through Mass Effect merchandise. It was reported earlier this year, following of the announcement of the Legendary Edition in 2020, that the price for Mass Effect Funko Pop figurines skyrocketed. What were once reasonable priced collectibles now sell for nearly triple the original asking price for Funkos based on characters from the original trilogy.

SpaceLab9's upcoming Mass Effect vinyl collection comes as another release for gaming soundtracks on vinyl. Over the last few years, with the resurgence of vinyl as a format, many publishers and developers have opted to release gaming soundtracks for those with a distinct ear for quality. The rise in popularity of vinyl has even forced some manufacturers to bring some favorites back into production. Just yesterday, Mondo Music confirmed that both the Silent Hill and Last of Us records will get re-releases.

With the presale for the vinyl set starting today, those wanting a limited Mass Effect collectible best be ready to buy. While SpaceLab9 did not reveal the price of the records or the quantity that will be made, those interested should be ready as preorders open make sure they don't miss out.
