The wait is finally over for PlayStation 5 owners wanting to play Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Despite Yakuza: Like a Dragon releasing in November 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and even Xbox Series consoles, PlayStation 5 players were forced to hold off for an extra few months. With the game finally available on Sony's recently released hardware, Sega is commemorating the occasion with a nice extra for fans.
To celebrate the launch of Yakuza: Like a Dragon on PlayStation 5, Sega is giving players bonus content. Yakuza: Like a Dragon players will get Legends Costume Set DLC pack for free which features garments based on some of the most memorable characters in the franchise. Originally a pre-order bonus for the original Yakuza: Like a Dragon release, the Legends Costume Set will now be available to all PlayStation 5 owners, including those who upgrade from the PlayStation 4 version. This is a limited time promotion as the DLC is only free until April 2.

Another reason for the release of what was originally a preorder bonus may be as a gesture of goodwill. With Yakuza: Like a Dragon offering a free next-gen upgrade, PlayStation 4 players were prepared to download a confirmed release. Unfortunately, many Yakuza: Like a Dragon PlayStation 4 players were unable to upgrade as they were not granted the free PlayStation 5 version which has since been fixed.
With Yakuza: Like a Dragon finally out on PlayStation 5, players are ready to give the heroic adventure of Ichiban another whirl. Unfortunately for those hoping to continue the journey where they left off on PlayStation 4, Yakuza: Like a Dragon will not have cross-save between versions. This means the tale of Japanese underworld intrigue will have to start from the first chapter. For those hoping to achieve the platinum trophy again, this means they best prepare for another 20 to 30 hours of grinding for the post-game dungeons.
