Riot Games' Valorant introduces its newest agent, Astra, and players are already encountering a bug that could ruin the game for people that play her.

Gamers are no strangers to bugs and glitches in games, but most players find them understandable unless it becomes a regular occurrence. In Riot Games' Valorant, it seems that every new update introduces a new kind of bug, and Riot has even had to roll back entire patches before due to technical instability. The newest bug affects Valorant's newest agent, Astra, and could be game-ruining for players.

Introduced with Episode 2, Act 2, Astra is Valorant's 15th agent. With a cosmic array of abilities, Astra can alter the tide of a match with smokes, concussions, fake-outs, and her bullet-impervious ultimate. However, all of Astra's abilities revolve around her being able to go into her Astral Form, and placing her Stars that she can later activate with different abilities.

The bug, which seems to have first affected Twitch streamer Lexeratv, occurred when the player was entering the agent's Astral Form. After a brief moment, the Valorant agent glitched out, and the player could not use any of Astra's abilities, could not move, and could not exit Astral Form. Unfortunately for Lexeratv, he became a sitting duck. The only thing that saved him was the sweet release of death, brought about by an enemy agent. Other players have also experienced the glitch when coming out of Astra's Astral Form, so the problem may very well be related to going in and out of that form.

This is especially devastating for players because going into Astral Form is a risk. While players are in that form, the real Astra is defenseless, and can easily be taken out if stumbled upon by an enemy. It functions similarly to Omen and Brimstone, as they are also temporarily defenseless when they are occupied with placing smokes. Because this bug seems to strike at random, it could drastically change the course of a match, and even cost some players their entire game if it happens at the worst moments.

It could also be an issue with the Ascent map. Valorant's Ascent map has had plenty of glitches since its introduction, so it is possible that the map isn't properly optimized for the new agent, Astra. In any case, it doesn't seem like Riot has officially responded to the bug yet, so it might not be a widespread issue.

Hopefully, Riot will be able to quickly resolve whatever issue is affecting Astra, since there a plenty of players that want to try their hand at the cosmic Controller. Players are already trying to learn everything about Astra, seeing where she will fit into the overall meta. It will definitely be interesting to see how the new agent is played, as long as no bugs get in the way.

Valorant is available now on PC.
