Ever since the game's initial launch back in 2018 for the Switch, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been giving fans more and more content every few months in the form of a brand-new DLC fighter as part of the Fighter's Pass. The latest fighters to join the party come from Monolith Soft's Xenoblade Chronicles 2, specifically Pyra and Mythra, who act as one single fighter, but players can switch them on the fly, similar to Zelda and Shiek in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
Earlier today, Masahiro Sakurai (the director of the Super Smash Bros. series) hosted a livestreamed presentation to show off more information and details on the new DLC fighters. Sakurai showed Smash fans the new stage coming to the game, the music tracks, and of course, Pyra and Mythra's moveset, among other things, such as a release date. If players are wondering when they can get their hands on these new fighters to try out their skills in battle, here's when Pyra and Mythra should unlock in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The past three fighters that have come out for Smash Ultimate --Min Min, Minecraft Steve, and Sephiroth-- have all been unlocked around 9 PM ET on their day of launch. It was announced today during the Mr. Sakurai Presents that these fighters will come out today, allowing fans to get in on the action rather quickly. However, players must wait for later in the evening to download the character, if they are on the east coast that is. For other locations around the country and around the world, here are all of the unlock times for Pyra and Mythra in Super Smash Bros.
- GMT - 4 AM - (Friday)
- ET - 9 PM
- CT - 8 PM
- MST - 7 PM
- PT - 6 PM
If these characters are anything like the other fighters that have come before it, these times should be accurate, unless --for some reason-- Nintendo has decided to change the release timing, which is unlikely to happen as the gaming company typically sticks to its release schedule for the fighters.
Mythra and Pyra will be available for download via the Nintendo Switch eShop. These characters act as the fourth fighter slot for the second fighter's pass, with two more characters yet to be revealed. The entire pass can be purchased for $29.99, or players can just buy Pyra/Mythra for $5.99, and that comes with the new stage, new music, and a few other goodies. For those that already own the pass, the character should automatically unlock after a small update at 9 PM ET.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
