Developer Black Forest Games’ remake of Destroy All Humans! has received a warm reception from gamers and critics alike, exceeding the company’s sales expectations since its release. Thanks to this success, publisher THQ Nordic has released a brand-new trailer for the game, featuring three new skins for Crypto 137 to wreak planetary havoc in.
The latest Destroy All Humans! trailer reveals Crypto’s three new suits: Midas' Touch, Ain't No Man, and Worst Nightmare. The video acts as another destructive highlight reel for Crypto, as the alien wages war on humanity wearing the three free in-game skins.

The end of the trailer once again included a teaser for Destroy All Humans! 2, which was spotted during last month’s Midweek Madness Trailer. Crypto 138, the Destroy All Humans! 2 protagonist, makes an appearance at the end of the trailer to ask if the original Crypto is “done yet.” Crypto responds with “I’m only getting started,” leading fans to believe a Destroy All Humans! 2 is well on the way.
THQ Nordic has a history of reviving cult-classics, already having published Saints Row IV: Re-Elected, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, and the very successful SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated. It only makes sense that the success of Destroy All Humans! would result in the publisher turning its eyes towards the sequel.
While THQ Nordic continues to produce remakes of dated franchises, the publisher recently began providing updates on its highly anticipated action-RPG, Biomutant. After an impressive Gamescom trailer in 2017, details were few and far between. The release date for the post-apocalyptic, Kung-Fu-inspired title was finally confirmed for May 25, 2020. The extended development process allowed Biomutant to fully realize its scope, with its open-world drawing comparisons to Nintendo’s beloved The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Nostalgia has proven to be a very valuable and successful tool for developers. The gaming industry is currently riding a trend of reviving long-dormant franchises and titles. The success of games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy speak for themselves.
This remake trend allowed Activision to completely revive the Crash Bandicoot franchise. The momentum built from Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled directly led to the development of brand-new installments in the series. Crash Bandicoot: On the Run releases later this month and Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was very well-received by both fans and critics, leading to chart-topping sales in the UK.
THQ Nordic is fully investing in the value of reimagined classics, hoping to replicate the success of industry leaders like Square Enix and Activision. While Destroy All Humans! doesn’t carry quite the same weight as Final Fantasy and Crash Bandicoot, it’s only a matter of time before they strike nostalgic gold.
Destroy All Humans! is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
