The creative director, lead game designer, and producer for the upcoming fan game Dragon Ball Demon Breaker, Redabcho, recently took the time to chat with Game Rant about his work. Fans have already seen a lot of what is to come in the next few months thanks to trailers and the like, and the SaiyaSlash Team recently revealed a new demo trailer as well. While the interview was full of exciting news about the fan game, RedabCho did take a moment to talk about a new enemy type he is working on adding to the game. This new enemy type will be revealed soon, but here's what is known about it so far.
At the moment, fans have really only seen the standard Demon Realm Soldier enemies that have been present in most of the trailers, but RedabCho makes it clear that this won't be the only enemy fans get to fight. Although the upcoming Dragon Ball Demon Breaker enemies haven't been revealed yet or even named, RedabCho did share an interesting piece of information about them.

The next enemy type is going to be announced really soon, and it's one of my favorites. I took a lot of notes from Ninja Gaiden, you know the reboots: Ninja Gaiden Black, 2, and 3. I think it's going to be a really, really interesting enemy. It's a really good callback, it's a nostalgic enemy.
When asked about how cancelling Dragon Ball Demon Breaker's story mode has helped with development, RedabCho mentioned that he and his team have been able to do a lot more work on fleshing out the combat and other existing systems within the game. This seemingly includes new enemy types, one of which he confirms will be announced "really soon." He goes on to say that, in designing this enemy, he took a lot of inspiration from the Ninja Gaiden reboots. Aside from saying that it is his favorite, all he can share at the moment is that it should be a really interesting enemy. He also calls it nostalgic, though it's anyone's guess what exactly that might mean.
Although many of the enemies in that game were sword wielding ninjas just like the protagonist, there were also plenty of supernatural fiends that Ryu would have to face. Still, it's important to remember that this is a Dragon Ball game, so it's likely that RedabCho drew from some kind of existing material there when designing this enemy as well. That said, Trunks is facing off against the Demon Realm's inhabitants, much of which has been established by the non-canon Super Dragon Ball Heroes, meaning there's a ton of places he could look to for inspiration.
Notably, the Demon Realm's inhabitants include demons like Dabura, Towa, and Fu, actual Devils such as the Spike the Devil Man, Majins, and even Demonic Namekians. With this array of potential enemy types, there should be no issue matching up to some of Ninja Gaiden's more monstrous foes. The game's ogres could easily be translated as Demonic Namekians like some of King Piccolo's minions, and some of the Fiends would work well as Devils. It's unclear when this new enemy type will be revealed, so fans just have to wait and see if it appears in the Dragon Ball Demon Breaker demo that's releasing this month.
Dragon Ball Demon Breaker is in development and scheduled for release in the Summer of 2021.
