Anime buffs may not have gotten any new content from Dragon Ball Super in a while, but the franchise continues to stay relevant today thanks to its massively loyal fandom. As of now, the latest event that Dragon Ball Super fans can anticipate is the upcoming "Battle of the Battles" special, which will commemorate the show's all-time best fights in a definitive countdown.
Back in December, Dragon Ball Super fans were tasked with determining the best showdowns to ever be featured on the show. Now, after months of deliberation, the results are in, and the long-standing debate regarding which fights between which characters were the most epic will finally be settled once and for all.

Toei Animation, the Japanese studio, and Funimation, the anime streaming service, have teamed up to bring the "Battle of the Battles" to global audiences. The event, which will take the form of an hour-long live stream across Toei Animation's Twitch channel and Funimation's YouTube channel, will reveal the top 10 fan-favorite winners, starting at #10. The clips will be shown with English dubs over the anime while commentators offer their feedback.
"The Battle of the Battles" will be hosted by Justin Rojas of Toei Animation and Lauren Moore of Funimation. Ian Sinclair, the voice of Whis, will also be present as the guest star. Throughout the event, promotional prizes and giveaways will be given out to some lucky viewers. Of course, the results were based on which fights received the most votes.
Dragon Ball Super was written and created by Akira Toriyama as a sequel to the original Dragon Ball series. The story follows the adventures of Goku a decade after he defeated Majin Buu in Dragon Ball Z. Since then, Goku had acquired the powers of a god, so the series focuses on how he learns to control those newly discovered abilities. Goku must adapt quickly too, as Beerus, a new threat in the form of a god, comes to Earth seeking a fight with the Super Saiyan God in order to fulfill a prophecy. Beerus' arrival ultimately initiates a chain of events that sets our heroes on yet another overarching mission to save the day from evil forces.
Naturally, with a premise like that, the show's writers had many opportunities to weave epic battles into the storyline. After the arrival of Beerus, other adversaries of Goku started to make appearances in Dragon Ball Super, including old enemies like Frieza and new enemies like Goku Black and Dragon Ball FighterZ's Broly. With so many battles to choose from, it will be interesting to see which ones actually made it to the top 10.
Dragon Ball Super: Battle of the Battles will live stream on March 27, 2021.
