A new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update has brought a fan-favorite game mode to players along with several important fixes. Treyarch continues to evolve its rotating playlist, which tends to promote new content with a variety of game modes. With the newest update, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fans see the return of Rapid Fire Moshpit for some non-stop action.
Each new gameplay option spreads across a variety of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War maps, but fans are upset at one addition to this moshpit's rotation. The idea of a Moshpit for Call of Duty tends to be a mixture of varying game modes across the smaller, more condensed maps. The game is designed to keep players in a constant state of motion as they fight it out in brutal matches.

The new Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War update adds in the Rapid Fire Moshpit for the first time in this title. The game mode will be a mix of TDM, Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint spread across the smallest maps available. The announced rotation will be Apocalypse, Nuketown '84, Crossroads Strike, Raid, Express, and Garrison. Among this rotation, the game has a few adjustments to each mode which include the removal of the Ghost Perk and the constant sweeping of a nearby Spy Plane. The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War developers have even reduced wait times between matches allowing players a faster way to get into each game mode.
While Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players are excited about this new game mode, many are asking the same question. With a wide variety of map options, players want to know why Garrison was chosen as a map. Fans can accept the other options, but Garrison is one of the few maps that players tend to avoid using the in-game voting mechanic.
Players were also interested in the idea of a reduced wait time. Some fans hope this is a shift towards lobbies that don't disband, but players are not getting their hopes up. Still, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's lobbies do need an adjustment, and persisting groups could be an easy fix to a long-trending community issue.
While there are some concerns, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War community opinion remains overall positive. This new game mode reminds many fans of an experience they had in Black Ops 1, and that brings a familiarity to the game that many have thought the title lacks. The new game mode will be available as of March 4th on all platforms.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, Ps4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
