Although they raked in money at the box office, not all the Michael Bay Transformers movies were that great. Here's everyone one of them, ranked.

The Transformers movies have done a good job of bringing childhood heroes to the big screen in mind-boggling 3D. All that's left is to create a game that is as epic as the movies and the transformers franchise will soar through the sky. When the first movie was released, it was a really big hit that served as a springboard for the release of other epic movies in the franchise. As the movies kept coming, however, the storyline became much more contradicting.

Hardcore fans were really disappointed with the story of the 5th movie, as it completely contradicts the rest of the movies before it. However, if one can get past these contradictions and just focus on the story each movie is telling, one would find that each movie is rather entertaining, to say the least. Since it's obvious that not all the movies are of the same quality, which one reigns supreme?

5 Transformers: The Last Knight

If there was a movie that wrecked the storyline of the Transformers franchise, it was Transformers: The Last Knight. The whole story was very confusing. Not only did it claim that the transformers have been here for millennia, but it also made mention of Bumblebee's participation in World War II. This was a total contradiction to the first movie that clearly showed the Autobots' first arrival to earth.

Although, the second installment in the franchise also claimed that the transformers have been here a long time, the 5th movie went too far by telling audiences that Bumblebee was a World War II veteran. Also, including Merlin in the whole thing made the story almost disastrous. That said, the fight scenes and Optimus' speeches made up for some of the flaws in this movie.

4 Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

When Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was released, a lot was expected from it due to the fact that its predecessor was so good, and when it couldn't keep up with the previous movie, it received backlash from fans. The movie seemed to suffer from a "lack of Optimus Prime." After the first movie, it was safe to say that fans wanted more of Optimus Prime in the next movie. Since Optimus was mostly absent in the second movie, it seemed fair that fans were upset.

Besides that, the movie takes viewers on a journey with the protagonists as they went to find what could potentially resurrect Optimus so he could defeat the fallen once and for all. The fight at the end was entertaining too as both Autobots and humans gave it their all to stop the Decepticons. The way Optimus brought the fighting to an end was jaw-dropping as well. In all, this movie is one of the better ones in the franchise.

3 Transformers: Age Of Extinction

Transformers: Age of Extinction was a total letdown for fans worldwide. It presented the Autobots as terrors to the human race and how the world tried to get rid of them. This concept wasn't all that bad, but the annoying part was the aspect of creating man-made transformers. These suddenly made the Autobots and Transformers in general feel like nothing special. A huge draw to the movies in the first place was the fact that they were alien beings with emotions that fought to protect mankind.

Adding these soulless robots to the mix did nothing good for the franchise. There was also the case of Lockdown, the bounty hunter, whose role in the movie was almost insignificant. It was hard to see him as anything other than a distraction. Besides these flaws, the movie was still entertaining in its own right thanks to its epic fight scenes. This movie breathed life into the movies that seemed to be going cold. It was also good that fans were introduced to a whole new set of human protagonists and antagonists.

2 Transformers

This was the first installment in the Transformers franchise and also one of the best Transformers movies so far. Audiences were introduced to a normal teenages boy looking to live a normal teenage life but got tied up in the middle of an alien conflict. As expected, the whole ordeal of finding out that his car was an alien robot was most hilarious.

Viewers saw how he befriended the Autobots and their leader, Optimus. When fighting broke out on Earth, soldiers were at a complete disadvantage because they had no clue how to battle such strange beings, but the Autobots were able to even out the playing field as much as possible, making the battle balanced rather than a one-sided massacre. This first movie had a lot to offer transformers fans and it delivered a very intriguing plot that entertained its audiences from start to finish.

1 Transformers: Dark Of The Moon

When it comes to a thrilling storyline and epic fights, this movie takes the cake. The movie told the story of the first landing on the moon and how it was connected to the Cybertron war. Audiences were introduced to Sentinel Prime who ultimately betrayed the Autobots, leaving viewers in a state of shock and anticipation. The battle of Chicago was gruesome, and it brought out the best in humans and Autobots alike.

The return of the Autobots from their so-called exile and destruction kept fans on the edge of their seats. Long-time fans of the transformers cartoons were excited to see Shockwave joining the action. Optimus was also shown in all his butt-kicking glory and his presence in a lot of scenes made this movie all the more likable. The fight was long and exhausting for both parties, but the end was highly satisfying.
