It's weird to consider that the first anniversary of Doom Eternal's launch is quickly approaching. March 2020 may as well have happened on a different timeline, for many people. Yet while Doom Eternal's launch may seem far away, support for Doom Eternal from id Software maintains its momentum. Doom Eternal's Ancient Gods DLC is still being worked on. In fact, publisher Bethesda has now confirmed that a major reveal for the Ancient Gods - Part Two is coming out soon.
Sunday afternoon Bethesda posted to the official Doom Twitter account that a teaser trailer for Doom Eternal's concluding chapter of the Ancient Gods DLC is almost here. The trailer will officially drop on March 15, which is just one week away. To be clear, this is an announcement for a teaser trailer. It's not explicitly for a full trailer or a release date trailer, but only for a teaser. Bethesda's clearly going to build up slowly to the DLC's eventual release.

As for why Bethesda is teasing a teaser trailer rather than just releasing the trailer now, there's a good reason for that. Achievements for the Ancient Gods - Part Two DLC have accidentally leaked, leading to a wave of speculation and excitement from Doom Eternal fans. Rather than let the community's expectations get out of control, Bethesda's controlling the message. A teaser trailer is coming soon and it's fans' own fault for having to wait since they spread the leak.
If today's teaser was in response to the leak, then the planned lead-up to the Ancient Gods - Part Two DLC's release is still a way off yet. If all went according to plan, the teaser trailer would hopefully have surprised fans, building up excitement for the release of a full trailer down the road. Now fans will have to wait that much longer, but at least they can have confidence in the DLC's pending release.
Going by that speculative schedule, if the teaser trailer is coming next week then something bigger is likely to arrive in the following week or two. That lines up particularly well with the rumored Microsoft event where the company addresses its now-concluding acquisition of ZeniMax Media, which includes Bethesda and id Software.
Regardless of whether Doom Eternal's upcoming DLC is showcased at the rumored upcoming Microsoft/ZeniMax event, a release date can't be far off. Barring any surprises, the Ancient Gods - Part Two could be out within the month. For now, fans just have to wait and enjoy the teasers.
Doom Eternal is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
