Board game developer Steamforged Games reveals the date when the Kickstarter for its new Monster Hunter World adaptation will begin.

Monster Hunter World is getting its very own board game, provided the recently announced Kickstarter is successful next month. To get fans excited for the Kickstarter, board game developer Steamforged Games has released a new gameplay trailer.

Before deciding to tackle Capcom’s massively successful action RPG series, Steamforged previously crafted board games based on other titles including Horizon Zero Dawn, Devil May Cry, Dark Souls, and Resident Evil 2. This new game will feature card decks that represent different weapons from the franchise. Weapons confirmed so far include Charge Blade, Heavy Bowgun, Gunlance, and more.

The new trailer opens up with footage from Monster Hunter World, showing off the famous Rathalos before its miniature form appears sitting on top of the new board game. The trailer, which is exclusive to board game site Dicebreaker, also reveals the Kickstarter campaign will begin on April 20, 2021; just a little over a month away.

The Rathalos is one of several monsters already confirmed to be in the game, with more to be revealed in the coming weeks. There will be 12 monster miniatures, each with an incredible level of sculpted detail. The monsters will be broken into four size categories ranging from L to XXXL. There is only one XXXL miniature, and it will be over a foot in height.

The Entry Pledge costs $70 and comes with four XL monsters, four hunter miniatures, over 600 cards, one double-sided board, one rulebook, and one quest book. In the middle is the Core Pledge at $140, which adds five more monsters and doubles the hunters, cards, boards, and books.

The All-In Pledge option gives players all 12 monster miniatures at $279 and triples the number of hunters and cards over the Entry Pledge. It also comes with eight rulebooks and quest books each, greatly expanding the unique adventures players can go on.

The Monster Hunter World Board Game launches its Kickstarter on April 20.
