During the Monster Hunter Digital Event today, Capcom announces information regarding the next Monster Hunter Rise demo on the Nintendo Switch.

Capcom's long-running Monster Hunter franchise is about to have a pretty big year in terms of new releases. Monster Hunter Rise is set to launch in a few weeks for the Switch and Monster Hunter Stories 2 is coming a few months after. In order to reveal more information about both titles, Capcom presented a Monster Hunter Digital Event today and there were some significant updates.

There was a demo released for Monster Hunter Rise several weeks ago that allowed players to explore one of the game's five locales, with two quests available to complete. The trial was limited to a certain number of uses, but players had access to every single weapon in the game, and there were a couple of monsters to fight to get players suited to Monster Hunter Rise's new Wirebug mechanic.

However, Capcom revealed during the presentation that the game will be getting a second playable demo and it will be available for download on the Nintendo Switch eShop on March 11. The majority of the quests are the same, but Capcom has added a third, more advanced quest, that lets players face off with the game's flagship monster, Magnamalo, which will not be an easy feat. And like the first demo, the armor sets will be fixed, but of course, in the main game, players will be able to customize their own armor and skills.

For those that have already downloaded the first demo, they will be able to update it on March 11 to get the new Magnamalo quest, and the number of tries will be reset as well.

At the end of the event, Capcom also revealed the first monster that will be coming to Rise as a free title update, and that monster is none other than Chameleos, an Elder Dragon first introduced in Monster Hunter 2. The title update will be coming in late April and will also add more monsters, an increased level cap, and some other new features.

Also shown during the Monster Hunter Digital Event for March was a brand-new trailer for the upcoming Switch and PC title, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. The trailer goes in-depth on the plot details and it was revealed that the game is launching worldwide on July 9, 2021. There will be cooperative quests for those looking to play with some buddies, and there's a deluxe edition that comes with outfits and other special items for the most hardcore Monster Hunter enthusiasts.

Monster Hunter Rise will launch for the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021, and a PC port will eventually release sometime in 2022.
