In any game mode with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies, the ability to revive teammates is vital to success. Every zombie mode has offered this ability, and newer titles even offer alternative methods of revival. Due to its consistency in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, players rely on it, but one team hit an unexpected bug that removed this valuable tool.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War recently launched its highly anticipated Outbreak mode, which opened up a larger world to Zombie invasion. Players were greeted with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War guns and a hoard of undead that were excited to do battle. To succeed in this game mode requires players to have all their tools available, but when the revive system breaks down, this party does not know what to do.

The clip was posted to Reddit by MetalHead026, and it showcases an interesting Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War bug. The clip begins with the players being charged by a rather aggressive hoard of undead. Stepping forward, MetalHead tosses a grenade into the swarm only to be charged and bitten several times by the assaulting foes. After going down, his teammates move to cover and revive, but the team almost immediately notices something is wrong with the revive timer. Rather than moving, it gets locked at only 10%, and his perks continue to drain away. None of the traditional revives work, and to their disappointment, even healing aura is a bust in this unique situation.
It is unclear exactly what caused this Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies bug to manifest, but it is troublesome to see its effects on video. On the bright side, the clip does not end with the player's death as he is simply locked in a downed state with the resurrection prompt still visible.
Players in the comments seem to note that that this is not an exclusive glitch to Outbreak. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Firebase Z has also been affected, and players believe that they know the cause. The game offers a "kill zombies to revive" option, and it appears that if activated at the same time as a revive, the player will remain downed.
This bug can ruin a good game of zombies and add to fan frustration over Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War's mixed quality. While it is unclear if a fix is in the works, but for the zombie community, this bug is more than just a little frustrating. Not being able to revive has the potential to be a game-breaking glitch.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
