The hunt for a next generation console still continues for many fans, as stock issues have affected both Sony and Microsoft. Now fans have yet another chance to get their hands on a PS5 or Xbox Series X, this time courtesy of GameStop. This information comes by way of a promotional email sent out to those subscribed to GameStop's email list, but it was still somewhat vague. Regardless, players trying to buy either of these consoles and finally get a chance to experience the next generation of gaming for themselves will want to be on high alert for the rest of the day.
These stock issues have a number of causes, ranging from hiccups in the supply chain to scalpers buying up stock before players get a chance. Whatever the reason, there are still many players that are more than willing to purchase a new PS5 or Xbox Series X that have been unable to thus far. With each new restock, more and more players get lucky and find their console, but an even greater number find themselves disheartened at yet another failure to attain one.

In the email, GameStop confirms that it will have both PS5 and Xbox Series X console bundles in stock sometime today (March 9th, 2021). Additionally, Xbox All Access Series X consoles will be available as well, meaning players wanting to take advantage of that offer from Microsoft will be able to do so. As advice to fans, GameStop recommends clearing the cart, logging in to its website, Gamestop.com, and being ready to go at a moment's notice.
These consoles will only be available online, so there's no need to rush over to a local GameStop and start standing in line. What's more, the email didn't list any particular time for the restock, meaning hopeful players will need to watch the page themselves. At the time of writing, there doesn't appear to be any indication on the website of when players will be able to start purchasing them.
As with any restock, expect competition to be fierce and servers to crash. A ton of people are going to be rushing onto the GameStop website, so it may experience technical difficulties as a result. Like GameStop already said, it's very helpful to be logged in with billing and shipping information already entered, that way those players that manage to get one in their cart can check out immediately. It's unclear how many consoles will go on sale or what bundles they will come with, but it should be happening soon.
The PS5 is available now.
