Call of Duty: Warzone has several fan-loved features but one popular option is causing an unintended side effect in post-game lobbies.

One of the most popular Call of Duty: Warzone variants is the money collecting option known as Plunder. In this mode, players fight across the map, collecting cash which scores for points at the end of the round or helps buy equipment during it. While the game mode itself plays rather bug-free, a new Call of Duty: Warzone problem has emerged as players experience the end of match voice chat.

While Plunder tends to be a generally enjoyable experience, the end-of-match voice chat offers an unexpected surprise. Call of Duty: Warzone plunder fans let loose their pent-up aggression in a colorful display of voice chat destruction. This is not a glitch but rather an unintended side effect of a beloved gameplay feature.

The problem is best highlighted by a video created by PC Gamer's Morgan Park. The short clip shows the end of a Call of Duty: Warzone plunder match where players are locked in a 30-40 second post-game lobby. This can often have up to a hundred players all within the same voice chat server who are more than happy to voice their minds. Every mic lights up as the chat explodes into a lobby of hate speech, foul language, and the occasional wailing scream with very little reason or target. While the clip posted by Morgan Park is a minor example, fans have witnessed much worse existing within the game voice chat environment.

This feature is a side-effect of the Call of Duty: Warzone death comm feature. While it does allow players to hear their victim's last words, it also opens the mics during post-game lobbies. This problem exists within all Call of Duty: Warzone game modes, but there is one major difference. Call of Duty: Warzone tends to only have 3 or 4 players at the end, while Plunder can often have 60 or 70.

The obvious solution for many fans is to mute every player outside the game's party environment. While this will stop the end of round screaming, it also removes death comms from within the game. For many Call of Duty: Warzone players, this is not a sacrifice they are willing to make.

Further investigation reveals that many Call of Duty: Warzone Plunder lobbies are filled with high levels of toxicity. The game's community has full access to every other player's audio, and they are more than willing to let loose frustration upon their former enemies. Due to this, Call of Duty: Warzone players are pushing for cross-chat to be muted during post-game screens.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
