The Zombies event inside Call of Duty: Warzone has been heavily rumored over the past few weeks, and a popular streamer has added fuel to that fire. According to a recent post from PrestigeIsKey, Call of Duty: Warzone could be seeing its Zombie hordes grow in numbers and spread to new locations very soon.
This is the latest of several rumors about the event. Recently, a plague game mode leaked, with the mode supposedly seeing Zombies take over the entirety of Verdansk. Players will then need to nuke the map, fighting through Zombies to reach a helicopter for an exfiltration. The nuke will supposedly destroy Verdansk as well, ushering in a brand-new battle royale map in the process. While there is plenty of smoke to this fire already, YouTuber PrestigeIsKey has added to the hype through a new post.

The post in question shows off some special swag for Call of Duty: Warzone streamers, with the items in the photo being a matching shirt and pair of pants. The getup is essentially prison attire, with the themed outfit being something that would be worn by those stuck in the gulag. The Russian prison has been a source of many great Call of Duty: Warzone moments, with the 1v1 area’s second chance mechanic helping to make the game stand out amongst all its competition. However, PrestigeIsKey pointed out an interesting detail on the package’s card.
As shown by the YouTuber, Call of Duty: Warzone’s gulag is referred to as the “ghoul-ag.” Seemingly hinting at the involvement of Zombies in the game’s prison system, this is a twist that has not been mentioned through any previous leaks or rumored. How exactly Zombies would work inside the gulag is unclear, but this package does seem to confirm that they will be involved in some way. If they are, Raven Software and Activision are clearly putting a lot of effort into this event’s creation.
With Call of Duty: Warzone reaching its one-year anniversary today, it is interesting that major content creators are receiving their packages now. The long-rumored Zombies and nuke event has been reported by leakers to start tomorrow, coinciding with the game’s anniversary and the end of the current Outbreak challenges. With the Call of Duty: Warzone nuke supposedly seeing Verdansk removed permanently, there would be no bigger way to celebrate the game’s latest milestone.
Considering that the official Call of Duty: Warzone Twitter account has teased the expansion of Zombies throughout Verdansk, this leaked content is looking more official than ever. With this second tease seeing content creators warned about what is coming, it should not be long before the game is changing in a significant way.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
