Ever since the first images of Jared Leto’s Joker from Zack Snyder’s Justice League were released, fans have been looking forward to seeing the villain in action in the film. Snyder has now added to the excitement by posting a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the Snyder Cut, offering another glimpse at the Clown Prince of Crime.
The image, shared on Snyder’s Vero account, shows the director capturing a close-up shot of Leto, who poses in Joker’s Knightmare outfit, which was previously seen in the trailer. The costume’s base layer seems to be similar to the hospital gown Joker sported in his promo images, but the Knightmare version includes a police vest covered in badges and combat boots.

Snyder is known for being quite active on social media and over the past few months, he has been offering his followers a lot of information, never-before-seen images, and exclusive teasers for Justice League. With the latest photo, the director thanked Leto for allowing him to “work so close” to him. While this gives DC fans an idea of what it was like for him to film with Leto, he also means it in the literal sense. The image, which was obviously taken during the pandemic, shows Snyder wearing a face mask and standing less than six feet away from Leto.
It has already been revealed that Snyder shot new scenes to include in his version of Justice League, including a major sequence of Joker confronting Ben Affleck’s Batman. While Joker was not a part of Justice League's theatrical cut, Snyder has previously confirmed that the epic villain’s meeting with the Caped Crusader was inevitable and is relevant to how the story progresses. Fans must now wait to see how significant a role will Joker play in the film.
Every teaser and photo of the Joker has instantly gone viral on social media, with fans holding on to each word he says in the official trailer. His “we live in a society” quote started a trend on Twitter the day the trailer was launched, with DC fans appreciating the fact that Snyder has probably been following the popular meme that has been circulating online for years. Just yesterday, fans also got a closer view of Joker’s Knightmare outfit in a video taken at the film’s exhibit in Dallas, Texas. Fans have high expectations for the epic villain’s appearance and Zack Snyder's Justice League as a whole, and in a few days, all shall be revealed.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will premiere on HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
