Fans have enjoyed Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds since it released in 2019, and the sci-fi RPG adventure planned for two additional DLC stories. The Outer Worlds has announced that Murder on Eridanos, the second and final DLC, will be releasing soon.
The Peril on Gorgon DLC for The Outer Worlds was its first expansion, and released late last year for most platforms. The narrative had players and their crews discover a cryptic message in a severed arm that led them to the Gorgon Asteroid, a former science outpost for Halcyon. Peril on Gorgon introduced new quests, weapons, armor variants, and additional perks, while the player level cap was raised to 33.

In the Murder on Eridanos DLC, players will have to investigate the murder of Halcyon Helen. An opening cinematic was released for the new story, and features the celebrity as she reflects on her adventures moments before she meets her untimely end. Players will be able to investigate Halcyon Helen's death beginning March 17, 2021 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The new location will be the floating islands in Eridanos' skies, and players will get a new gadget called the Discrepancy Amplifier to solve the mystery. Plenty of new perks and flaws will also be added in Murder on Eridanos, as well as new weapons and armor. Much like Peril on Gorgon, the level cap will be raised, bringing the cap to 36.
It will be interesting to see how the story unfolds, and whether or not this whodunit is all that it seems. Unfortunately, Switch players will have to wait longer to find out. The Peril on Gorgon DLC just released for the Nintendo Switch last month, so it may take a couple more months for Murder on Eridanos to finally become available for hybrid console.
The Outer Worlds is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
