The Temporal Beacon card in Loop Hero can turn any tile into a risky gambit with a massive payoff for players who are brave enough.

Loop Hero brings a perfect blend of random chance and player empowerment in a slick auto battler package, and the game is a huge success on Steam. During circuits around a loop, players will need to gather resources, fight monsters, and take part in self-determining battles in the hope of progressing.

As they progress through the game, players will unlock many new cards that they can place on the loop to influence the game. Some can spawn new enemies, provide the hero with buffs, or interact with each other in strange ways depending on the tile combinations that are placed down on the loop.

A very powerful tile that players can get access to in Loop Hero is the Temporal Beacon. When placed on the loop, this tile will increase the attack speed and movement speed of units within the area of effect and cause a powerful enemy called a Watcher to spawn that will provide players with quite a challenge.

To get the Temporal Beacon tile, players will need to complete 13 loops in a single game, which will take some clever tactics. Players will want to pick the Loop Hero class that they are most comfortable with and then settle in for a long run. This means carefully setting down tiles that improve health, and healing, while putting down just enough tiles to generate monsters that will provide loot without filling the boss meter.

Players will want to do this in chapter one, which is the easiest chapter in the game. They will also need to limit how many tiles they put down on the loop so that they do not summon a boss, which could quickly stop their attempts to reach 13 total loops. Monsters get stronger with each loop, so placing down cards like Spider Eggs that generate a lot of monsters will give them the best chance of getting good loot and surviving the run.

It can also be a good idea to place Chrono Crystals beside Meadows to double up their healing effects, giving players more health each day. It may take some experimentation and multiple runs before players can get to that all-important 13th loop and unlock the Temporal Beacon, but the tile is certainly worth it for some interesting late-game strategies.

The Temporal Beacon can be combined with on-hit effects like Vampirism or critical chance to vastly increase their effectiveness, but players will need to contend with the Watcher enemies that will spawn as a result, so the decision to place the card will need to be made carefully.

Loop Hero is available on PC.
