FaZe member and loadout expert NICKMERCS shares another weapon build with Call of Duty: Warzone players, this time highlighting the AUG.

Call of Duty: Warzone may currently be getting overrun with Zombies, but that has not stopped NICKMERCS from sharing strong weapon loadouts with the game’s community. The Call of Duty: Warzone fan’s latest class sees players making use of the AUG from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

NICKMERCS’ loadouts are always effective, as the professional gamer has built up a reputation of providing the best versions of each meta’s strongest weapons. As such, Call of Duty: Warzone players should find themselves succeeding against undead and human enemies alike using the pro’s latest AUG build. While the weapon may need to be leveled up a bit to unlock all the necessary attachments, it certainly seems like it will be worthwhile.

While the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War AUG was popular enough to be considered broken, requiring a major nerf, the gun has not been a part of Call of Duty: Warzone’s meta thus far. With guns like the MAC-10 and DMR 14 stealing all the attention players, though, this is understandable. However, with those guns nerfed, many weapons now seem more viable. According to NICKMERCS, the AUG is one of the most underrated guns in Call of Duty: Warzone, as he believes it is “broken” due to its ability to kill in “two bursts” at close-mid range.

Intriguingly, NICKMERCS’ AUG does not use a suppressor attachment. Instead, an Infantry Compensator is used in a suppressor’s place, with players getting greatly reduced recoil in exchange for going loud. With the AUG naturally having a lot of kick, controlling it is a must. The 17” Titanium Barrel boosts range greatly, providing a small bump to accuracy as well. Next, the Axial Arms 3x Optic is used, which is a natural choice for tactical rifles within Call of Duty: Warzone.

A Field Agent Foregrip is included in the weapon build as well, once again helping to manage the weapon’s strong recoil. Finally, a 45 Rnd Drum magazine will keep players firing for longer, something that will be a must when engaging with more than one enemy player. While NICKMERCS has shared an AUG loadout in the past, the old video focused on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare version of the weapon. With that gun being fully automatic, these two builds are very different, so players should make sure that they are using the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War variant of the AUG when looking at this build.

  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
  • Barrel: 17” Titanium
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 45 Rnd Drum

While the AUG may be a top tier weapon at the moment, NICKMERCS firmly believes that the leaked CX-9 SMG will soon dominate the game’s meta. As such, players may want to get some time in with this powerful AUG before the new weapon debuts.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
