A leaker best known for their Xbox news says that those interested in buying Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice should maybe wait a few months.

Xbox Game Pass has continued to offer more and more games over the past several months. It has added 20 Bethesda games and rumors suggest that it will be adding the EA Play library for PC. There are always more games to be added, though, as Xbox Game Pass continues to grow. There are now rumors of another major game coming to Xbox Game Pass soon in the form of From Software's most recent game release, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

The rumor comes from social media leaker Shpeshul_Ed, who co-hosts the XboxEra Podcast. In a recent tweet, Shpeshul_Ed told their followers that they if they were considering purchasing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in the "next couple of months or so" then they might consider holding off. The insinuation being that Sekiro will soon be available to play either free or as part of an affordable subscription service.

Unfortunately, Shpeshul_Ed doesn't provide any sources for their information, nor do they provide any specific information. As such, there's a lot of ambiguity to this rumor that puts the news firmly in unreliable territory. Shpeshul_Ed is known for leaking Xbox news, and specifically Game Pass news, so it can only be assumed that his hint of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice being available in a new way soon is referring to it coming to Xbox Game Pass.

Another possibility is that Shpeshul_Ed isn't hinting at that's worth mentioning is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice not coming to Xbox Game Pass, but to PlayStation Plus instead. Since Shpeshul_Ed doesn't mention where Sekiro is going, PS+ is a definite possibility. Shpeshul_Ed mostly only talks about Xbox news and leaks, which is why Game Pass is very much what they're most likely hinting at. But they have also leaked PS+ games in the past, so anything's possible.

Neither Microsoft nor Sony announces their plans for new games coming to their respective subscription services particularly early. If Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is coming to either Xbox Game Pass or PS+ in several months, then it may be several months before we get official confirmation that it's happening.

Another thing to note is that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is published by Activision. Historically, Activision has a closer relationship with Sony than it does with Microsoft, with more Activision games coming to PS+ than to Game Pass in recent years. From Software fans who haven't tried Sekiro yet will just have to wait to find out.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
