The Animal Crossing: New Horizons fan community produces a great deal of fan art, and now banana stickers featuring a fan fave character are trending.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was one of the biggest games of 2020, and the already passionate fanbase for the franchise grew considerably last year. With Animal Crossing: New Horizons' sales eclipsing 30 million units worldwide, the game is best selling in the series, and one of the highest selling titles on the Switch, period. With so much attention, there are a number of fans creating amazing fan art, including some banana stickers featuring a fan favorite character.

In game, the various crafting options and terraforming possibilities have allowed folks to be very creative in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. People have designed themed islands based on movies, clothing worn by their favorite characters in other series, and someone even went so far as to bring the entire first act of Hamilton to life in New Horizons. Despite a fairly simplistic set of tools to work with, fans are finding ways to make unreal creations in the game.

Outside of the game, fan art flourishes, and some incredibly well made stickers featuring the popular villager Ankha are making the rounds now. A take on the iconic Chiquita logo, these "Ankhquita" stickers by buenos.adidas feature the popular Egyptian cat who wears a Uraeus headdress (a cobra depicting the goddess Wadjet), a symbol of royalty in Ancient Egypt. Ankha is consistently ranked as a top tier villager in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for her unique look and snooty temperament. Ankha never smiles, which is something these banana stickers get right, showing her with a muted expression.

The stickers also feature Ankha's amiibo card villager number and a symbol indicating she is a cat type. Nice little touches for those in the know. Little details like that are a fun wink to fans of the franchise that might otherwise be missed. A fanmade sweater based on the "Mom's Hand-Knit Sweater" item in New Horizons has a similar kind of appeal. To some it might just be a cute sweater, but it will be immediately recognizable to fans of New Horizons.

It might not just be Animal Crossing fan circles that get to enjoy the creative experience, as Build-a-Bear looks to be collaborating with Animal Crossing in the near future. With Animal Crossing having gone mainstream enough, soon anyone will be able to walk into a store and create a custom villager plushie. If Build-a-Bear is paying attention, the company will hopefully include an Ankha plushie option, she's popular, has a cool design, and she apparently runs a successful banana empire.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for Nintendo Switch.
