The cooperative survival game Valheim has attracted players of all kinds despite being Early Access. Part of the appeal is taking part in deep crafting features to improve the Viking world. Developers Iron Gate include a multitude of items available for creation, but one of the most enticing are the capes. Read through this guide to learn how to make every cape currently in Valheim.
With Valheim crushing sales on Steam, many fans may not know that some capes serve more than just a cosmetic addition. Many of the options available also provide special benefits that can significantly help with surviving in the dangerous world. However, each cape necessitates crafting from a workbench, so new players will want to start there. Collect 10 wood and break out your hammer to bring up the crafting menu and make a workbench.

Now that the bench is set up, it is time to start a career in cape making. As of now, there are six capes that players can acquire in positively reviewed Valheim Early Access. The first is the Deer Hide Cape, which does not provide any passive benefit. Search around and collect 10 leather scraps and 4 pieces of coal. With that, Vikings can create this specific cape and equip it.
Next up is the Linen Cape, a piece that also does not give players a buff. This time, crafters will need to access 20 linen threads and 1 piece of silver. Both of these options are more for styling the player's character, rather than boosting abilities.
However, players can use the following to capes for various effects during exploration. Unsurprisingly, the Lox Cape needs 6 lox pelts and 2 more pieces of silver. Players will want to consider crafting this item though because it gives resistance to Frost. This can be handy when traveling across the colder biomes of Valheim, like the Mountainous areas. For setting up an ambush, fans need to craft the Troll Hide Cape. This needs 10 troll hides and 10 bone fragments, but gives +25% to stealth.
Some Vikings will be aiming to complete certain armor sets in Valheim. One of these is the Wolf Armor set which can help a lot against frost. Gather up 6 wolf pelts, 4 pieces of silver, and save a wolf trophy to craft the Wolf Fur Cape. This can replace the Lox Cape because it is better for resisting frost, and the full set can buff players against frost attacks.
The last one available is the Cape of Odin, but this can only be accessed if the player was an early supporter of the game. If so, it is fairly easy to make since it only needs 10 leather scraps and 4 pieces of coal. By crafting every cape available, fans will be able to switch around gear depending on the situation and survival against tough odds.
Valheim is available now in Early Access on PC.
