Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service is clearly the main pillar of the company's current video game strategy, with fresh games constantly being added to the subscription service. Now Microsoft has confirmed the next batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass, and it includes some critically-acclaimed games as well as some completely brand new titles that will be available on the service on their first day of release.
As far as brand new games go, the first will be added on January 26 in the form of Cyber Shadow. Cyber Shadow, for the uninitiated, is a retro-style action platformer that seemingly combines elements of Ninja Gaiden and Metroid. Players take on the role of a ninja named Shadow who has to fight his way across Mekacity, rescuing his imprisoned clan members and unlocking new abilities along the way. Cyber Shadow gameplay presentations have impressed so far, and so it's definitely a "get" for Game Pass.

The other brand new game is an Xbox console exclusive in the form of Bloober Team's The Medium, coming to Game Pass on January 28. A departure from the studio's previous first-person horror efforts, The Medium is a third-person horror game that takes its cues from classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Console exclusive to Xbox Series X, The Medium is one of the first Game Pass console games that will not be playable on Xbox One.
Meanwhile, a slew of other games are coming to Xbox Game Pass on January 21. This includes Control's PC Game Pass debut, as well as the critically-acclaimed Desperados 3, which was actually one of 2020's highest-rated games. The popular indie game Donut County is also coming to Game Pass, and those that play Game Pass on Android devices will be happy to hear that Outer Wilds is joining that particular lineup.
And finally, more Yakuza games are finally coming to Game Pass on January 28 through the Yakuza Remastered Collection. This will give Game Pass subscribers the opportunity to play through Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5, all of which are making their Xbox debuts. Their addition means that the bulk of the Yakuza franchise will be playable on Xbox, with fans just waiting on Yakuza 6, coming to Game Pass a little later this year.
Game Pass is getting a ton of new content, but some games are also getting the boot. It was recently confirmed that Final Fantasy 15 and a handful of other games are leaving Game Pass come February, so those interested should be sure to play them while they can.
