Nintendo announces a new way for players to show off their Animal Crossing: New Horizons islands with the Island Tour Creator app.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players put a lot of work into their islands and love to show them off. In order to bring in visitors, players also have act as their own tourism boards, using social media to entice others to come and see what they have to offer. Nintendo is providing a new way to share islands with a new Island Tour Creator. It will be a limited-time app that players can use to demonstrate what's special about their islands.

Nintendo announced the new service through Twitter and provided a glimpse at the app's potential with images. The app will launch on March 23, 2021, after which players can make digital posters and tour videos that highlight the best parts of their islands. As this is planned to be a limited-time service, it will only be available until the end of the year. The app also allows Animal Crossing: New Horizons players to stamp their island codes on the images they share, making it easier for others to come by for a visit.

Soon it will be one year since Animal Crossing: New Horizons launched for the Nintendo Switch. The game has helped players make great memories and new friends, as well as providing a much-needed outlet for people who were stuck at home during the pandemic. Nintendo is releasing a free anniversary update on March 18, which will gift players with an additional 50 custom design slots and a special 1st Anniversary Cake. The update also brings a slew of seasonal items that players can collect for a limited time.

Until then, New Horizons Shamrock Day items are still available, but this special event will end on St. Patrick's Day on March 17, so there isn't a lot of time left. Players who want to bring a little luck of the Irish to their islands can collect myriad shamrock-themed items, including a Shamrock Doorplate, a Shamrock Soda, and a Shamrock Rug. Myriad green items and St. Patrick's Day-themed costumes are up for grabs.

While Shamrock Day is nearing its end, there's still plenty of time to take advantage of the Super Mario content update that went live in February. This saw the return of older Super Mario Bros.-themed items, as well as several new ones. The event will last until March 24 and also includes a special New Horizons Mario Mission. Completing all of the missions allows players a chance to win Mario-themed pins for free.

The more items that are added, the more options players have to get creative. In just one year, there have been some impressive things coming out of the game. For instance, one player recreated the entire first act of Hamilton in-game and posted the over one-hour film to YouTube. Most recently, a Japanese player managed to recreate an Among Us map in New Horizons
