The Red Dead franchise is full to the brim with some truly excellent games, with the bulk of this excellence coming through Rockstar Games after they managed to nab the rights to this IP. The first Red Dead Redemption game was brilliant enough as is, with the open-world and story being some of the very best that gamers had seen a decade ago. However, with the release of its sequel, fans were treated to one of the biggest advancements ever made in the open-world genre.

Both Red Dead Redemption 2 and its prequel are excellent games in their own right, and it goes without saying that people who've played everything that Rockstar had to offer in the open-world genre would obviously want to try out more games in the same vein. Keeping this in mind, here are ten open-world gams to play for anyone who loves the Red Dead series.
10 Kingdom Come: Deliverance
The first game Warhorse Studios decided on making was a massive open-world RPG in medieval times that had a major focus on realism. This ambitious nature of the studio is the first thing that should be commended.
Of course, it certainly helps that Kingdom Come: Deliverance also managed to be a great game in its own right, managing to stand on its own two feet as a brilliant game that is only held back by technical limitations and glitches.
9 Cyberpunk 2077
The hype for Cyberpunk 2077 was through the roof when it was announced for the first time. CD Projekt Red's reputation was through the roof after the massive success of The Witcher 3, and people couldn't wait to get their hands on the studio's latest title.
While the release of Cyberpunk 2077 is marred in controversy, there's no denying the fact that the game is actually extremely entertaining once people manage to get past the myriad of bugs and technical issues that have significantly bogged down the experience.
Perhaps once the game is properly patched, people will finally be able to enjoy this masterpiece the way it was supposed to be played.
8 Fallout 3
The Fallout series used to be a brilliant CRPG that pushed forth excellent narratives and a vast expensive world to explore. After Bethesda's takeover, this notion was taken to the very next level.

Fallout 3 was a major step forward for the franchise, propelling it to the mainstream in the most emphatic manner possible and allowing players to explore the world of Fallout in a manner that had never been achieved before.
7 Horizon Zero Dawn
The PlayStation 4 was home to some truly brilliant titles that pushed the boundaries of gaming to new heights, and one need only look at Horizon Zero Dawn to understand why this the case.
The fact that Guerrilla Games — a studio that was mostly famous for working on the linear first-person Killzone series — actually managed to deliver on their promises and develop one of the greatest open-world games of 2017 is a massive achievement.
The fact that the game somehow managed to integrate robot dinosaurs into the story without the plot being driven to the ground is an achievement in itself.
6 Dragon Age: Inquisition
The third game in the Dragon Age series — a franchise that hasn't been marred... yet — was the first title to experiment around with open-world design... and it managed to excel in that regard!
Going through the various hub zones of Dragon Age: Inquisition is a treat in itself, with the adventures of the Inquisitor being quite enthralling from start to end.
5 Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Marvel's Spider-Man was easily one of the most anticipated games of 2018, and it was clear that Insomniac Games was going to bring all their expertise into crafting a Spider-Man title that would serve as the most entertaining and free-flowing game featuring the famed web-crawler.
So, it was only a given that people would be waiting for Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales with bated breath, and these expectations were definitely met, if not exceeded entirely. Miles Morales is a brilliant title that any fan of excellent open-world titles should not miss out on. The only drawback one can point out with this title is that it doesn't really last for too long, with most gamers combing through the entire experience in around 6-7 hours.
4 Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning
Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning was a highly ambitious RPG that never really enjoyed the success it deserved. After all, the game was worked on by several veterans in the industry, and was only pulled back due to some people finding most of the fantasy tropes in the game somewhat overdone.
However, people who decide to give Kingdoms Of Amalur: Reckoning a shot will be more than pleased by the deep and intricate nature of this title, which is considered by many to be one of the most underrated western RPGs of all time.
3 Batman: Arkham Knight
The Arkham series consists of some of the greatest superhero titles of all time, capping off with the amazing Arkham Knight that ends the Caped Crusader's story on a very satisfactory note indeed.

Using the Batmobile to roam around Gotham is a blast, coupled with the refinement of Arkham's combat and gameplay to make for a memorable experience that will remain embedded in the minds of fans long after they finish off this excellent title.
2 The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
Of course, it would be impossible to talk about some of the greatest open-world games of all time without mentioning the incredible game that is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Nintendo definitely went back to the drawing board when it came to the Zelda series, and came back with an amazing masterpiece that would easily stand the test of time as one of the greatest open-world games ever made.
1 Grand Theft Auto V
Of course, it would be impossible to talk about a series owned by Rockstar... without talking about the franchise that made them a household name in the first place.
Grand Theft Auto V is quite possibly the greatest game ever made, featuring technical advancements across the board coupled with exciting emergent gameplay that will keep players entertained, regardless of what they set out to do in this brilliant open-world title.
