Back when Super Bomberman R was released for the Nintendo Switch in 2017, Konami made it clear that it would continue to support the game. For a good while, it received consistent updates with new content and things for players to do, and then in the following year it branched out to other consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. By 2018, the game sold over a million units, and that number has only risen since then. Now, a full three years since launch, that figure has doubled to an impressive two million.
Super Bomberman R came out on March 7th, 2017, meaning it recently celebrated its third anniversary. In honor of this and its momentous sales achievement, Konami claims it is preparing a "commemorative campaign" for the game. At the moment, there's no hint at what exactly this will mean, but fans should expect some kind of event or new content to come soon.

This comes right on the heels of the announcement for the spin off title, Super Bomberman R Online, which initially released for Google Stadia in September of 2020. Later this year, players will be able to play this battle royale take on Bomberman on all major consoles, including PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
In response to this achievement, fans are overwhelmingly supportive. It is easy to see that the fanbase of Super Bomberman R loves the game and feels it is more than deserving of the two million sales it has racked up over the last three years. What's more, this commemorative campaign may serve to draw in even more players, furthering it towards the next major sales milestone.
Super Bomberman R is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
