The world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is full of memorable characters with unique designs, and skilled cosplayers have brought the best to life.

There are several reasons that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt garnered so much praise from critics and fans, with one of the biggest being the game’s cast of characters. From the cheerful bard and narrator Dandelion, to the excellent Hearts of Stone villain Guanter O’Dimm, every major character in the game is well-acted with a unique personality. Further, the games cast of characters is full of memorable designs and outfits, fitting of the game’s fantasy setting.

At the core of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are four characters, however, with their iconic looks truly sticking with fans in the years since the game’s release. As such, a vibrant community of cosplayers has formed for the the third Witcher game, with many creative fans dressing up as the main cast. Whether it be the sorceresses Yennefer and Triss, or the dual protagonists of Geralt and Ciri, several excellent Witcher cosplays have come about over the years — with different people ensuring that each of these characters are brought to life perfectly.

Starting off the list is none other than EvermoreFae, as the skilled cosplayer brings the fiery sorceress to life. Depicting Triss Merigold in her default outfit, an incredible level of detail can be seen on the costume. Several different materials are used, with each clearly providing different textures that add to the image’s quality. The ropes above Triss’ green sleeves and her thin belt stand out, as does her iconic red hair and the striped bag on her waist. The accurate leggings and boots are a nice touch as well, with the outfit complete through Triss’ necklace. An extra bit of photo editing only adds to the piece, as EvermoreFae can be seen wielding fire in the palm of her hand.

Not to be outdone, Yennefer gets to shine through some brilliant images courtesy of cosplayer Yuki LeFay. Depicting Yen in her alternate costume, which can be acquired through downloading one of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s free DLC packs, the raven feathers on Yen’s arms look truly incredible. The black stockings, leather gloves, and blue scarf all add to the look, with Yen’s classic choker doing the same.

The cosplayer makes sure to keep the dark black hair of Geralt’s true love intact, with Yuki LeFay’s attention to detail ensuring that the character’s purple eyes are noticeable, too. An excellent look enhanced by the cosplayer’s facial features matching Yennefer’s character model, this portrayal is as good as it gets, and the use of GIFs to help bring the character to life is truly creative.

Next up is Katssby’s impressive Ciri cosplay, with the skilled costume-maker showing an eye for detail only seen in the best Witcher cosplays. Crucial details like Ciri’s hairstyle and white hair color are included, as are the character’s green eyes and scar. The outfit is spot on, with the loose shirt and leather bracers making a perfect transition to reality. Photo edits depict this version of Ciri inside areas straight out of the third game, while the addition of the sword she receives during one of the game’s endings noticeably improves the costume. Posing like the character does in-game helps to make the portrayal even better, with Katssby’s take on Ciri being truly excellent.

Finally, there is the franchise’s beloved protagonist Geralt of Rivia. While Henry Cavill may be the first thing that comes to mind when picturing a real-life Geralt, Maul was often who fans thought of beforehand. Making the rounds as the “real-life Geralt” on social media, this cosplayer’s popularity has only grown with time. This is hardly surprising, as the fan’s commitment to the role is impressive.

Maintaining the white hair and beard, while always having orange contacts in, Maul has appeared at several conventions over the years. Seen wearing several armor sets from different Witcher schools while also holding onto various swords, there is no shortage of pictures and videos that show how great of a Geralt cosplayer Maul is.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
