Gamers will have to complete all ninety challenges in the game to get their hands on the outfit. While it will take some time, the Legend of Far East outfit has to be one of the top five best looking outfits in the game. The outfit has impressive buffs as well. This article will outline each challenge players need to compete, along with tips and tricks to complete them as fast as possible.

Before embarking on this journey, players should at least finish the main questline. After completing the main quest in the game, players will have more money to spare, which will help over the course of all the challenges. This is especially true during the bandit challenges, which will give rise to a lot of bounties that will need to be paid off. Listed below are all of the Bandit Challenges, and a few tips for the more difficult ones.

  • Hold up five townsfolk.
  • Rob two coaches along the road: Steal two coaches from Emerald Ranch.
  • Rob the cash register in any four shops in one day: Travel from town to town.
  • Rob three coaches in a day: Head Back to Emerald Ranch.
  • Amass a $250 bounty in one State.
  • Steal five horses and sell them to the horse fence at Clemens Cove.
  • Rob $50 worth of cash and valuables from townsfolk and traveler: Complete this challenge on a train.
  • Steal seven wagons and sell them to the fence at Emerald Ranch: Same process at Emerald Ranch.
  • Hogtie someone and leave them on the railroad three times.
  • Complete five train robberies without dying or being caught: Loot the front of a train after it stops and repeat.

To begin the challenges, gamers will need to find the Jack Hall Gang map. The map is held by an NPC named Maximo, located between Flatneck Station and Bard's Crossing at the top of the hill. After acquiring this map, there are two additional maps players need to get their hands on before searching for seven different treasure locations. The approximate location of the two additional maps, as well as each treasure are included below.

  • Treasure Map 1: Southeast of Caliban's Seat on the north side of the cliff, mantle the cliffside and the map is in a crevice.
  • Treasure Map 2: In the Center of Cotorra Springs, look in the rockpiles in the springs.
  • Treasure 1: On an island at the center of O'Creagh's Run.
  • Treasure 2: The map will be found on a stranger scouting from the cliffs by Riggs Station. The map will reveal the location of the treasure in Cumberland Falls behind a waterfall.
  • Treasure 3: In the Barrow Lagoon on the tree bridge leading from the island. The treasure is in the hole in the tree.
  • Treasure 4: Up the mountain in Bacchus Station, between the two peaks to the left. Carefully skirt the ridge and drop straight down when the path ends. After taking fall damage, the treasure is under the overhang to the left.
  • Treasure 5: South of Cairn Lake in a small cabin behind the frozen lake. Look under the bed.
  • Treasure 6: West of Ringneck Creek on the northeast side of Face Rock. The treasure is in the tree trunk near the rock.
  • Treasure 7: Southwest of the Van Horn Trading Post in one of the rock patterns on the hill. It will be in the rock pattern with a hole in the middle.
  • Treasure 8: On the west side of the Elysian Pool inside of the cave behind a waterfall. Take the path to the right at the fork in the tunnel. At the bottom of the slope players should climb up the rock past the small pool of water and inspect.

Players will need to excel in four of the gambling games to complete these challenges in Red Dead Redemption. The games include poker, blackjack, dominoes, and five finger fillet. Not many tips can be given for these challenges except to persevere. The challenges are listed below.

  • Win five hands of Poker.
  • In Blackjack, double down and win the hand five times.
  • Win three games of Five Finger Fillet.
  • Bust one poker table out in each location (Flatneck Station, Saint Denis, Valentine).
  • Win three rounds of dominoes without drawing any tiles against two or fewer opponents.
  • Beat the blackjack dealer in two locations (Rhodes, Van Horn Trading Post).

  • Win three hands of poker in a row.

These challenges will test the skills of each player while on the hunt with various different objectives. Gamers will want to have deadeye leveled up for these challenges. Gamers need to complete all of the below challenges.

  • Hunt three perfect quality rabbit pelts: Use the Varmint Rifle.

  • Find and kill the legendary panther "Giaguaro": Giaguaro is southeast of Bolger Glade, ride in that direction until the legendary notification appears. Use eagle eye for clues and shotguns are the most effective. Refer to the Legendary Animal Guide for additional tips.

The Herbalist challenges are simple enough, as long as gamers know where to look. Below are all of the challenges, and where to look to find each herb.

  • Pick six yarrow: Near the main roads surrounding Valentine.
  • Pick and eat four species of berry: Raspberries (south of Valentine), Blackberries (south Diablo Ridge), Evergreen Huckleberry (northeast Saint Denis), and Wintergreen Berry (Manito Glade Peak).

  • Use Oleander (Sage) to craft six poison weapons: Crafting arrows will be the best option for this challenge.
  • Pick one of each species of herb: This challenge is a pain. Ten herb locations are listed here, ten moonshiner herbs are listed here, and this list should cover almost all of the rest.
  • Season and cook all 11 types of meat: Players will need Oregano, Thyme, and Wild Mint. All are near the Dakota River. Players can scour their map for each type of animal that will yield the requisite meat.

  • Break every wild horse breed: Save and use the dynamite respawn trick in areas with wild horses. After each respawn, the breeds of the horses will change.

Each of the Sharpshooter challenges will test the accuracy of gamers with the various weapons in the game. Gamers will need to stop by both a fence and gun shop to purchase Tomahawks, a Lancaster Repeater, Sniper Rifle, and excess ammunition. Deadeye will be key during these objectives as well.

  • Shoot the hats off of 3 people's heads: Valentine is a formidable location for this challenge.
  • Shoot 3 birds with 3 consecutive shots.

The Survivalist challenges are undoubtedly the most unique challenges players will need to progress through. Gamers will need to fish, hunt, craft, and kill to complete all of the survival challenges. When fishing, players should move the left thumbstick in the opposite direction that the fish is running. Touching the right thumbstick is a mistake. Players need to complete the following challenges.

  • Catch three Bluegill fish: Fish in O'Creagh's Run using cheese (x20).
  • Hand five animals in to camp or the trapper: Turn in the fish from the first challenge.
  • Kill five animals using a Varmint Rifle.
  • Craft all of the following arrow types: dynamite, fire, improved, poison, and small game: Poison and dynamite arrows will need to be purchased from a fence. Animal fat can be looted from boars, and Oleander Sage can be found near the water to the east of Caliga Hall.
  • Catch a fish while boating in the Bayou and while standing on railroad tracks.
  • Kill a scavenging animal while it is feeding on a corpse five times: Kill animals in the same area and rest for a few hours.
  • Kill eight small game animals with consecutive shots, using small game arrows: Kill the chickens in Valentine using level four deadeye.
  • Craft a honing tomahawk, improved tomahawk, volatile dynamite, and volatile fire bottle: All but the improved tomahawk will need to be purchased from a fence. Eagle and hawk feathers can be found north of Strawberry to the right of Mount Shawn by the corpse on the map. Owls are extremely rare in Red Dead. Gamers may have luck near Brathwaite Manor at night.
  • Catch a fish that weighs at least 19 lbs: O'Creagh's Run is a great option for this objective too.
  • Catch one of each type of fish throughout the world: Buy each type of bait from any of the tackle shops and fish away. Check out the legendary fish guide here, and review the Ambarino guide, as well as the Lemoyne guide.

The final challenges will be a breeze for gamers compared to some of the grueling challenges players have already endured. Below are the last set of challenges gamers will have to complete to unlock the elusive Legend of the East Outfit.

  • Kill three enemies in 10 seconds using only throwing knives: Save before attempting this challenge.

  • Kill 5 mounted enemies, using 1 throwing knife per kill.
  • Kill four enemies at the same time with a single stick of dynamite: Hogtie enemies to expedite this challenge. Health and deadeye tonics will help as well.
