A leaker that has accurately leaked video game news in the past suggests that he has information about the unannounced Fallout: New Vegas 2.

Video game leaker Tyler McVicker has primarily been known for leaking Valve news, but now he's decided to expand his horizons. McVicker has announced plans to focus his efforts on leaking news for far more than just Valve games and products, which will apparently include information on the unannounced Fallout: New Vegas 2.

McVicker casually mentioned Fallout: New Vegas 2 while listing off games that he has "a lot" of information about. Unfortunately, McVicker didn't expand on what knows about the game. There was also some confusion caused because McVicker mentioned "The Frontier" right after saying Fallout: New Vegas 2, which led some to believe that he was referring to the massive Fallout: New Vegas mod that was recently released, as opposed to an official Fallout: New Vegas 2.

However, McVicker would clarify in a tweet, stating that he expects Fallout: New Vegas 2's release date to be somewhere in the second half of this decade. In the same tweet, McVicker mentioned his expectations for some other Bethesda games that are in development, with Starfield not coming for "another year or two," The Elder Scrolls 6 not launching until 2026 or 2027, and "anything close to Fallout 5" not coming until the 2030s at the earliest.

Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax Media, which includes Bethesda as well as the Fallout franchise, means that a potential Fallout: New Vegas 2 could be developed by Obsidian Entertainment. After all, Obsidian is also under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella. However, McVicker doesn't seem to think that Obsidian will be involved with Fallout: New Vegas 2. This would be unfortunate, as Obsidian has expressed interest in Fallout: New Vegas 2 in the past, and the studio's work on the original game is why so many fans want to see a sequel in the first place.

While McVicker has accurately leaked news in the past, he's also been incorrect about some things, and so fans should still take all of this with a massive grain of salt. McVicker does not provide any evidence that Fallout: New Vegas 2 exists in any capacity, and so it would be best for fans to keep their expectations in check. In the meantime, those anxious for a new game can try Fallout: New Vegas' expansive Frontier mod, or download a New Vegas HD texture pack and replay the game with shinier graphics, as that may be the closest thing fans get to a remaster.

This isn't the first time McVicker has claimed to leak information for non-Valve games. Previously, McVicker leaked Breath of the Wild 2 map information and expanded on how the game will incorporate longtime Zelda villain Ganon. McVicker's reliability when it comes to non-Valve leaks has yet to be proven, however, so it will be interesting to see if any of his claims come true.

Fallout: New Vegas 2 has not been announced.
