Ticuu’s Divination is the latest Exotic weapon added to Destiny 2 and comes with a strong Catalyst. The weapon is part of the Season of The Chosen release and gives a strong reason for players to pay for it or reach rank 35 with the free pass.

While the weapon is really easy to get a hold of, the Catalyst is one of the worst grinds out there. There are a lot of boxes players have to check off and depending on the player’s needs it may or may not be worth it. For players interested in the Ticuu’s Divination Catalyst here’s what it does and how to get it.
The Ticuu’s Divination Catalyst comes with an exciting perk that turns this already great weapon into an absolute powerhouse. The perk is Causality Quiver and it has two effects:
- Increase damage when perfectly drawn arrows cause Sacred Flames.
- Refresh duration of Causality Arrows if target isn’t suffering Sacred Flames.
The damage increase takes the already impressive DPS potential of Ticuu’s Divination and ratchets it up higher. Even better is the fact that this can be stacked up to six times for massive damage.
After the player has the Ticuu’s Divination weapon they’ll want to speak to Banshee-44 in the Tower to start the Points Piercing Forever questline. Players will need Ticuu’s Divination for the quest so they should be comfortable with the weapon.
Banshee-44 will tell the player that the bow “is hungry for energy” and will need to satisfy it. This requires completing three objectives:
- Defeat 100 Combatants With Ticuu’s Divination
- Defeat 50 Guardians
- Collect 100 Orbs of Power
The Combatants can be sourced anywhere they simply need to be killed with Ticuu’s Divination. The Guardian kills are obtained in a Crucible match and team kills appear to count. The best way to get Orbs is to multi-kill two or more low-level enemies with a Masterworked weapon.

Part 2 is where the real grind kicks in and players will need to use Ticuu’s Divination exclusively. There are three components to this part of the quest:
- 200 Calibration Data Generated
- 100 Combatants Defeated With Ticuu’s Divination
- Guardians Defeated With Ticuu’s Divination
Gambit, Strikes, Crucible, or Nightfall: The Ordeal will be required to get these objectives. It’s important the player uses Ticuu’s Divination exclusively to get the credit for the kill. It’s also vital players get the kill via the bow and not an explosion through Sacred Flames as the latter won’t always count due to a bug reported by many players.
Part 1 doesn’t require the bow to complete any of the objectives so any weapon will do. The player can get a strong Masterworked weapon to quickly rack up multi-kills and finish this part faster and more efficiently.
Part 2 is tricky as the player needs to use the bow but killing via Sacred Flames explosion will negate the kill counting for the objective. The best strategy is to use the explosion to soften up enemies, then kill with the bow. Alternatively, players can have teammates soften up targets before killing them.
The bottom line is, the player will need to become familiar with using Ticuu’s Divination to complete this quest quickly, and even then it will take a while. If the player plans to use this weapon a lot, very reasonable considering the damage potential with Sacred Flames, then it’s worth doing the Catalyst quest. Otherwise, it’s a significant time investment for what’s basically a collectible.
