Microsoft collaborates with Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson to promote its meme-inspired Xbox Series X Mini-Fridge on social media.

Some fans have noticed that the new Xbox Series X kind of looks like a refrigerator. Gamers didn't take too long to notice that and turned to social media to mock Microsoft's latest gaming console. In this whole episode, Microsoft's social media team turned out to be a real winner, as instead of throwing a hissy fit, folks at Xbox used the flood of memes to their advantage. While some brands restrict people from commenting on their posts, team Xbox embraced these memes. What's more, Microsoft went onto make a refrigerator that looks exactly like an overgrown Xbox Series X console. A year on, Microsoft has followed up on it to unveil a Mini version of the Xbox Series X Fridge.

Gamers from Microsoft's camp would recall that the last year's Xbox X Fridge was unboxed by star rapper Snoop Dogg. Microsoft hasn't gone light on star power this time either. For the Xbox Series X Fridge Mini, the company roped in Hollywood heavyweight Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who is seen with a package that holds a product with Xbox and ZOA branding. For those not in the know, the latter is an energy drink brand founded by Johnson in partnership with The Molson Coors Beverage Company.

The former WWE wrestler turned Hollywood star is pushing ZOA drinks as a "zero sugar" alternative to regular fizzy drinks. While The Rock hasn't taken the wraps off of what is likely to be a mini Xbox Series X Fridge, he did send another unit to American tech and gaming YouTuber Lamarr Wilson.

Donning an Xbox hat, Wilson has uploaded a video unboxing the elusive Xbox Series X Mini Fridge along with a carton of ZOA energy drinks. As showcased in Wilson's Instagram post, the tiny refrigerator seems perfect for holding a bunch of energy drinks and snacks. The fridge is unlikely to draw much power, as it can be plugged into your car. From the looks of it, it is quite similar to generic mini-fridges that sell for $80 a pop on Amazon. But, of course, it is the branding that makes the Xbox Series X Fridge Mini so special to fans.

Last year's Xbox Series X Fridge was given away to a lucky gamer via a Twitter contest. It will be interesting to see if Microsoft takes a similar route with the new mini-fridge, or the company has plans to release this product in limited edition or otherwise for gamers who love the Xbox badge.
