Microsoft has been aggressively promoting its Xbox Game Pass subscription service lately, making some big moves to bolster the lineup. The recent Bethesda acquisition saw 20 games from the company added to Xbox Game Pass, whereas the upcoming triple-A game Outriders will be debuting on Game Pass on its launch day. But while new games are added to Xbox Game Pass on a regular basis, titles occasionally leave the service as well.
Luckily, it seems many more games are added to Xbox Game Pass than leave the service. On March 13, three more games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass across console and PC. This includes Hyperdot, which will be leaving Game Pass on both PC and console, as well as Journey to the Savage Planet, which will be leaving the console version of Game Pass. And finally, Machinarium will be leaving Game Pass on PC.

While these games certainly have their fans who will be sad to see them leave Game Pass, this latest exodus is not nearly as severe as the one that took place earlier in the month. A couple of days ago, Xbox Game Pass lost some big games, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most critically-acclaimed games of all time, so its departure from Xbox Game Pass definitely stung a bit.
But as mentioned previously, Microsoft has added far more games to Xbox Game Pass than it's removed in the past month, so it's unlikely that these upcoming departures will upset the community too much. Even so, anyone that wants to play through these games should make it a point to do so while they're still available on Game Pass.
Just as Microsoft adds new Game Pass games on a monthly basis, it also seems to remove games on a monthly basis. Also similarly to how it adds games, the games it removes are typically removed in batches. Typically Game Pass games are removed in the middle of the month and at the end of the month, and that's usually the pattern when it comes to get additions as well. There are exceptions to the rule, of course, like with the new Bethesda games that were all added at the same time on a random weekday due to Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda officially going through.
Looking ahead, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can expect a new batch of games to be added in April, though next month will see some other titles removed as well. As it stands, Microsoft has not revealed many of the new games that will be added to Game Pass in April beyond Outriders, but that game has a high enough profile that it could be the only one added and many subscribers would likely be satisfied.
