Despite the fact that it's been out since 2013, things are looking up for the still active Grand Theft Auto Online. Just this past month a fan found a solution to reduce load times by 70% in GTA Online, and now Rockstar has revealed that double cash and double RP are being given out in the game's arena mode.
RP, or reputation, is the experience point system in Grand Theft Auto Online that allows the player to upgrade and level up their character. The double cash and double RP bonuses were announced by Rockstar via its company blog yesterday and is expected to run all week long.

GTA Online's arena mode was added to the game in 2018 and has been popular amongst players because of the different arena events as well as the rewards players can obtain within the high-octane setting. In the past, rewards have included discounts on some of GTA Online's best arena vehicles, but this week's double cash and double RP are especially exciting because they can be used in any of GTA Online's game modes, not just the arena.
Rockstar seems to be doing its best to get new and returning players excited about the multiplayer game recently, having run a string of events like the double cash and RP event on top of hiring an Associate Cheat Operations Analyst to curb cheating in Rockstar games, including GTA Online. With less cheaters online, and with more rewards available, Rockstar is certainly making a strong case for its nearly decade old game.
Grand Theft Auto Online is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X versions are in development.
