With the Version 1.4 update, Genshin Impact added something reminiscent of dating sims and Japanese visual novels to the game. Now, players can hang out with a number of Genshin Impact four-stars: Bennett, Noelle, Barbara, and Chongyun.
In this first series of Genshin Impact Hangout quests, players can explore each of these characters' first acts, meaning there's likely more to come down the line. However, there are some prerequisites players will first have to meet before they're able to hang out with any of the four characters. Firstly, players will need to be Adventure Rank 26 and have completed the main questline's Prologue. Additionally, to unlock Chongyun's first act, Signs of Evil, two keys are needed, which can be obtained from doing Daily Commissions.

As fans of the Japanese visual novel genre of gaming will know, navigating through the 6 different endings requires choosing specific dialogue options at opportune moments. But players will want to achieve each of the different endings as they offer different rewards such as Primogems. However, Chongyun's story path is a bit more complicated than his peers.
To start off with the first ending, Blessing In Disguise, begin by meeting with Chongyun in Liyue. The first important decision will occur when Chongyun asks, "Do you think I'm not deciphering these clues correctly?" Respond with, "They all sound pretty farfetched," the first option. Secondly, after speaking with the child, Chongyun will contemplate what to do with his popsicles. Tell him, "What if you just give him one of the popsicles?"
The first ending in this Genshin Impact Hangout quest also comes with a secret achievement. When speaking with Chongyun again, later on, he'll ask a series of three questions, and the goal is to keep his hearts at maximum. The first answer is, "There's a ghostly shadow skulking about Feiyun Slope at night." The second answer is, "Deep in the Sea of Clouds," and the final answer is, "There is a vigilant demon adept at concealing itself in mist." Following this, complete the quest as normal to unlock a secret achievement and the Blessing In Disguise ending.
The Idle Amusements requires the same first answer as the first ending, "They all sound pretty farfetched," however, when Chongyun asks about the popsicles, tell him to give the child both instead. When choosing the popsicle flavors, pick either "Mist Flower and Qingxin" or "Sunsettia and Valberries" as they will render the same ending. The player will need these ingredients to craft the popsicle so it's best to choose whatever's available. Then finish the quest by playing hide-and-seek with the kids and cooking food for them.
For the ending Can't Bear This Heat, the Traveler will choose the same dialogue options as Idle Amusements until crafting the popsicles, where they should choose to make it with Jueyun Chili and Slime Condensate, a Xiangling classic mix of ingredients.
For the last three endings, they will all require that the player go back to the first dialogue option when Chongyun asks, "Do you think I'm not deciphering these clues correctly?" And instead answer choose, "Although they all seem farfetched, I'd better not tell him that. He seems like quite the persistent character." For the ending Nothing Gained, in a later conversation, the Cryo claymore wielder will say, "it's hard to refuse when you put it that way..." Respond with, "Let's both drink it." Later, after investigating, choose the dialogue option, "Sure, just have a rest."
For the fifth ending, Small Regrets, follow the same dialogue path as before, but when Chongyun is talking about resting, instead choose the second option, "Let me help you find a place to rest." This Genshin Impact Hangout quest is more like Bennett's in that it's not all that romantic, unlike Barbara's and Noelle's. When Chongyun says there's no point in lingering there, agree with him: "Right, let's head back."
Finally, the ending called Goodbyes is considered the "best" for Chongyun's storyline. To get it, follow the same path as the fifth ending up until the last dialogue option, where the player should instead choose, "Remember that strange mist we found earlier?"
Genshin Impact is out now for Mobile, PC, and PS4, and is in development for PS5 and Switch.
