Of the many online multiplayer games to gain extensive popularity last year, Phasmophobia was one that caught a lot of players' attention. An online, cooperative multiplayer horror game is not something that's seen every day, and Phasmophobia brought a lot more to the table in that regard. Though, this most recent update for the game will be sure to give players more to experience within the game.
Unlike other multiplayer horror games like Dead by Daylight, which relies a lot more heavily on competitive multiplayer elements, Phasmophobia has players working together to investigate a wide variety of haunted areas and happenings. With a unique gameplay setting such as that, it offers a lot of variance in terms of what can be done in the game and the developers over at Kinetic Games continue to experiment in new and differing ways.

A couple weeks back, Kinetic Games released an update for Phasmophobia that added improvements to the ghost AI. Now, an even newer update has now released for the game that fixes a cacophony of bugs and glitches that some users have encountered while playing. In addition to bug fixes, the developers have also added an unsettling new ghost ability that allows them to blow out candles the player lights.
This feature will be sure to keep players on their toes considering that the ghosts can now blow out candles, even if the player is holding them. What's amazing about this game is how much further potential there is for inventive implementations. There's plenty of features that could be added to Phasmophobia that would make it a better game than it already is for a lot of players.
Phasmophobia hasn't been out for that long and yet it has already grown extremely popular. As a result, this has given developers a lot more room for experimentation with regards to gameplay mechanics. Back in January, Kinetic Games released an update for Phasmophobia where based on mircophone input, the ghosts can track players depending on how often they speak.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds in terms of Phasmophobia. It's clear that a lot of players enjoy this game and much like Among Us, which also grew extremely popular over the last year, the player base shows no sign of dwindling. With any luck, Kinetic Games will continue to release new updates for the game and give players a lot of new gameplay opportunities.
Phasmophobia is available now on PC.
